MWO: Is there any part of one of the books you’d love to see re-enacted in MechWarrior Online?
RB: Two things immediately pop to mind.
1. Physical attacks.
2. Physical attacks.

See? Even Randal wants me to have my Axeman 2N :)

Orbital drops would be fun too but I do like the idea of smacking another mech with a big axe...otherwise why on Earth do I have hands?

Thanks for everything so far Randall (Would never call you Randy either.) Did that at a Con once... LOL I'll never tell.

Oh, and talk them into the Hatchetman. Would really love to crack some cockpits...

Gimme that mug! How bad *** is that?! A coffie mug with the House Kurita crest?! BAD ***!

Seriously, its so awesome to hear one of my favorite BattleTech writers is down with the Dragon. And to find out he's just a big a geek as the rest of us when it comes to this game amost makes me tear up.

Awesome interview.

Awesome interview! I too was so impressed at the pedigree that is going into this game. It is in essence, as "official" as it gets!

As for those who want a coffee mug, just Google "personalised coffee mugs" - you'll get a dozen online companies willing to provide you with you favorite emblem emblazoned on a beverage holder and shipped to you for under 20 bucks! :)

ftfy

There's LOTS of use for manipulators beyond punching, they just don't translate well to a video game. :)

I'm surprised nobody picked this up yet.

Including THOSE I'm working on now?!?

meh, highly likely he's talking about that mechwarrior tactics game on ipad. OR more something for Catalyst Labs. Really wouldn't be surprised if they were trying to relaunch the P&P Mechwarrior RPG line again.

Welcome Randall Bills!
Good to see MWO is in good/expert hands and real Battletech!
I know, I gonna love this IS -map, the pushing and war waging, all those dense storytelling! The roleplaying!

Where? I couldn't find it in Battlecorps and was unaware that pre-orders were possible at this stage.

The beard is for the Leviathan Game. Basically if I remember right he is not supposed to shave it off till the product ships. Also Hot Drops = Awesome, and what would be the glory of Triple Strength Myomer without Melee combat. Hatamoto-Chi Samurai anyone.

Well, pre-pre-order I guess? It's on B&N's site, sort of, but not for sale. And it's on the CBT page under pre-orders?

:) that means it is still pending, typically pre-order stage will mean there's a release story about it and the pre order option will be ready in Battlecorps . Not to bash B&N but I've seen some wacky estimated release dates from them.

Awesome interview.

Side Note: How come Randall in his pictures always looks so bummed out? I don't recall him smiling in any picture I have seen :-)

I love the Banshee-3S, one of the first mechs I ever used when I first started playing, so he's definitely got good taste :)

Thanks for the interview!

Great interview, awesome incite into the mind of the man behind the game/universe I love. I have a question though... Are you ever going to give us a picture of you that doesn't scream "Zombie on Prozac"? :P ;) :)

This wouldn't be BattleTech if I didn't point out...

MechWarrior 2 was about the Refusal War, not the Clan Invasion

MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries was the second sequel and was the first of the series to feature the Clan INvasion.

Sorry Randall :)

Community knows more about the game than the people who made it. That is ... great? :)

I wonder if that Hunchback was on-board that wreck and got out alive?
