All of this. SO MUCH!
I actually want to park it in that little side-nook on Mining Collective where its pitch black, power down... waiting for a mech to try to sneak by... fire up the lights and get into hot pursuit!
...at 36kph...
Can someone at PGI please confirm that the lights on the K9 will have some utility?
YEAH WE NEED A ROAD BLOCK NOW HE'S STILL RUNNING!!!
K-9 + St. Ives Blues? a Dynamic Duo of Mechs to chase down the Clans?

for the Purchase button. Then I saw the hard points, and I sank back to Earth. Nevermind. I guess I won't buy this for the same reason I didn't buy the Boar's Head. Why is there no 100 ton IS hero (or special) that can mount dual AC 20's? Actually, I would consider buying this if there was some sort of heavy flamer, and you could mount it in the head, and it shot out of it's mouth. GODZILLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!

I looked the pilot up on Sarna. Looks like it's in theme with the unit.

CRB with Ballistics? YES
MAL with Ballistic arms and Energy torsos? YES
KGC with Energy arms and Ballistic torsos? YES
USB doesn't need any more explanation. It's perfect.
CRB could be fun, wouldn't even have needed the missiles actually, and those tiny claw arms are great Just hope the arms are not too low.
MAL could be interesting, but those arms are quite low, so it's kinda forcing the emphasis on lasers/SRMS, which in turn it lacks a bit of speed for..
KGC looks like most interesting of the bunch; plenty of laserpower, and HIGH shoulder mounted ballistics?!
Nice to see these all add something new, without actually deviating too much from their chassis' trademark features. Good job.

Its great the IS gets to have a slightly better 2PPC Gauss platform than the CTF-3D.

Pretty happy I can pick it up without having to buy two other Zeus's I don't want.
The only problems are weird hardpoint layout and quite a bit softer than the Spirit Bear. Based on early theory crafting, it won't be much faster than the Spirit Bear. I forgot how IS MASC IV compares to Clan MASC IV, but base speed is 74 with an LB10, 4 SRM6w/art, MASC, 13 DHS, XL340. It will probably hit almost as hard as the Spirit Bear, you lose on the AC but IS SRMs are a bit better, but no shield arms, less armor, less structure... don't get me wrong, it will be fun, and I can say right now I will probably be buying it, but I don't think it will really hold a candle to the Spirit Bear.

Seriously though, those light bars better work. And that King Crab!
Kudos on the price structure, it just makes sense.

Seems apt to me, given the mech.
I'm no lore hound, but it's a huge Crab monster. It's a 100t assault mech with a massive mouth [re: paint scheme] and huge pincers. That's pretty Kaiju-esque, so it seems a fairly good name for it.

One on one, no, the Spirit Bear is objectively stronger [excluding considerations of quirks with regards to Zeus sturdiness, but also IS XL].
On the other hand, in a FP environment, the Zeus is taking up 20% less tonnage on a larger drop deck. So, there's that.

All we need is a commitment to this and I think you'll have a good response.
Yes, we know it will call attention to us.
Yes, we know that might get us focused.
Yes, we don't friggin' care b/c it will be GLORIOUS!

Also the Spirit Bear has the same CT structure boost (+15) as all but one of the Zeus which has +30, so chances are this one will get +15 as well, so Spirit Bear wins. Yes, it might have the +17 ST structure like the common Zues compared to the Spirit Bear's +5, but as you said, Clan XL.
For now we can probably assume it will get structure on par with the non-5S Zues's.
Fair point about faction play, but brawling is rare in FP, especially when limited on ammo.

One mans opinion, freely given and worth almost that much....
See no real reason to pre-order.

I'm so intensely sick of "Oh, great, another mech with [this] loadout" posts, as if it's a problem.
When the Grasshopper was released, it was all "Oh, another laser vomit mech!"
No matter what the "current meta" is, the reality is that it's HIGHLY likely that many mechs will be able to do it, particularly when said meta requires just 3 hardpoints.
God, it's so tiresome.

Nobody who runs an Urbanmech cares if some AWESOME FEATURE makes them more focusable. If you run an Urbie, it's because IT'S AND URBIE AND IT'S AWESOME.

Also maybe u remove lower and hand actuator in ballistic arm for GHR, MAL and ZEU pls? Ability to carry ac20 sometimes really important.

You think? I suspect that it's not going to be as important in the Hero, as it's only got ballistics in one side torso. Getting LAA's will help the lasers be more accurate, and you can't carry many ballistics, so it's not like the dual ac20/quad5 sorts of builds.
