Notice the Crab also has side torso mounted weapons.

2x PPCs, SRM4, SRM6, XL300, 14DHS. Here I come.

Then once the tech line is advanced, swap the PPCs for Snub-Nose PPCs, and swap the SRMs for Artemis versions.

40 front loaded damage, 20 of it being a tight pinpoint, high velocity shot.

Jack, buddy, pal...are you talking with yourself again?

But some of these mechs.... sigh

The Crab's design, it's conception, it's very reason for being, is a medium mech that is not reliant on supply lines. So they gave it ballistic weapons?

Why?

I mean, no, seriously 'why' manages to cover it quite well.

Presumably because hero mechs are special mods, not production mechs.

BC it's a hero mech. Some special snowflake of a pilot decided he knew how to better build a mech than the Generals managing the supply lines. Seems about right for what's supposed to be, lore wise, a one off design. That's what hero mechs are right?

I just think it will make for a nice design. A fast medium, with great hitboxes, and potentially high mounts, bringing a nice combo of PPCs and SRMs. Sure you could do that with a Griffen or a Trebuchette, but unless you want Jump Jets, you won't want to pass up on the Crab's exceptional hitboxes.

I see you make no notice of the fact that you were carrying on a conversation with yourself, but ah well...

As for the Crab. Okay, you have a point. It isn't one I agree with but, okay...

How about explaining why Phelan is running around calling himself 'Ward', or why his Wolfhound looks like a dumbed-down Wolfhound IIC?

Or explain why the King Crab looks like a demented Kermit the Frog?

Or the... Do we really need any more mechs that scream 'put PPC/Gauss combos on me'?

And, ah, heck with it. I really wanted that Urbie hero that has a tow-cable instead of an engine and mounts 2x AC-20s. As it is, that light bar had better work.

Phelan Ward isn't, and at the current time I believe his name IS Ward.

... Because that was Alex's original King Crab concept art?

This is stupid. So we can't have Mechs that have energy and ballistic? Don't be ridiculous, we only have 3 hard point types. Location/Gauss requires 2-4 hard points in B and E. That's REALLY easily attainable on MOST Mechs.

As someone who loves the Yen-Lo-Wang I am actually excited for the enforcer. You can load it out like a wang with jump jets.

Curious. Usually with a mech pack yo get some bonuses for pre-ordering stuff right?
But with these heroes or the clan heroes you don't get anything for preordering right?

So you can just order when they come out?

Not so. This is the same as when they announced the clan heroes. Not early adopter bait. Its fine for little things like an urbie for only $10US but unless prices go *up* after preorder period, there is little incentive right now to plunk down for them...

Yeah. I mean I will probably buy some of them. I will just buy them when they are actually in game though.
I see no need to pre order them now...It's not like they will run out lol..

Actually it'll be 2250MC in-game, so you might be off cheaper (depending on how you buy your MC) getting it after MC release..

I am going to need that Phelan Wolf Wolfhound and probably the King Crab.
Pumped to have both Aiden Pryde and Phelan Wolf in game. even if I suck in light mechs.

Lights are nice, but am I only one really disappointed by the lack of missile slot on Urbie? I was hoping for hero Urbie to be little missile battery. Now it has police lights, but the hardpoints are pretty much same as usual.

I'm hoping with the upcoming tech year advance, we'll get the UM-68 with MRM-30.

That depends on where we are in the timeline. According to the Clock https://mwomercs.com/clock it is 3052 so we are a few months away from when Phelan wins the Trial of Bloodright for the Ward Bloodname. By all rights he should be known as Phelan Wolf and kicking around with Clan Wolf at this point.

But, hey, apparently he is still mucking about in the Inner Sphere! Okay, fine, sure, whatever, but if that is the case he should be known as Phelan Kell (his birth name, rather than the using the Kell Bloodname Ulric creates later on).

The "Grinner" in game are not supposedly piloted by Phelan. It's a hero mech based on his mech, it's not him.

He'd be with the Filthy Clanners by now no matter what, and the current timeline is "flexible" - see mech additions and such.

Quit your bitching, people run all sorts of ****.

Its great the IS gets to have a slightly better 2PPC Gauss platform than the CTF-3D.

The CPLT-K2 runs 2PPCs just fine and has a PPC velocity quirk.

Usually I would just hit the Purchase button for the whole collection. Like I've done for every Mechpack since Wave 1.

With the new Skill Tree in its current PTS iteration actually punishing Mech collectors like me by significantly increasing the grind to master all of them, I am holding out on throwing money at PGI.

Maybe they'll fix the new Skill Tree, maybe I'll have to cut my losses and switch to another game.
