As said before, Phelan Kell's Wolfwound was called Grinner too.
(and I see no chance in the world of PGI releasing the Wolfhound IIC)

Never say never. Plus, we've no idea if, or even when, they will release the IIC version.

There's also Scott Bradley to choose from as well. Unless he piloted a different `Mech. Then there's Christian Kell, Patrick Kell's son. It was rumored that he piloted either a Wolfhound or Wolf Trap.

You guys do know that Phelan Ward, Phelan Wolf, and Phelan Patrick Kell are all the same guy, right?

If the sarna.net article is correct (yes, I know there are novels about this ... no, I haven't read them in decades), it was during the clan invasion that he earned the Ward Bloodname and was part of Clan Wolf, in general terms, before then (until his capture in 3049), he was Phelan Kell of Kell Hounds.

What exactly are you grognards griping about?

Now that the drama is over, urbie and enforcer will be purchased... almost want the wolfhound, just dunno if i will find it redundant to the ecm raven with that xl295 cap...

Use the RVN-3L for extreme range harassing and WLF-GR for close range striking. After the skill tree drops, you should be able to customize them pretty extensively to fit different roles.

My problem with the WLF chassis (not just the -GR) is the size and survivability. Not even ECM can stop decent aim when one solid shot will kill you.

The BlackKnight cant get TSM because its not available, thats ok.

But instead of giving him a MASC Slot (whats quite similiar) he gets a Missile and a Ballistic?? Thats... kind of... not ok.

Granted I made this post in another thread, I wanted to copy it over to here because I think its a bit more appropriate and you guys seem to have more eyes on this thread in regards to the hero mechs (especially since you just updated the post).

Any chance of the 'Clanbuster' KGC-001? While I wouldnt exactly say I was disappointed with the Kaiju hero KGC (quad PPC's and only 2 ballistic in one side torso is a bold move cotton, and there is lore behind the mech and pilot which is always good to see) because the KGC is my favorite mech in the entire game. I really wish we had gotten the Clanbuster or the KGC-010 (AC10s in the arms, and PPC's and SRM6's in the torso's with special heatsink 'Fin' geometry) would have been a more interesting choice. Roughly 2 years after the KGC released and we are finally getting a hero mech for it and its a more obscure loadout (not even sarna had that setup for the KGC chassis, putting 2 energy points in each arm would warrant a new variant convention for a chassis).

Any chance in the near future that we could get other 'hero' loadout variants of the KGC, because I would drop money on the Clanbuster or the KGC-010 (since it doesnt have a nickname but does have unique geometry, I will throw my hat into the pool with 'ROCK LOBSTER'), Its not that I am not happy with the Kaiju (it looks like it could be a fun build, and useful for FW since it wont be so ammo reliant) but I guess I just wanted the Clanbuster or Rocklobster more. I have money I will happily throw at you for those KGC variants if you just put them into the game.

I'm glad to see PGI changing things for the better. Enforcer and Black Knight def. If they'd be willing to change the King Crab to 6 energy in 1 torso, 2 missile in the other, and 1 ballistic in each arm, it becomes an interesting mech. Pretty peas....

The Wolfhound he piloted when he was with the Kell Hounds was a run of the mill standard introtech IS Wolfhound. The MWO Mech we will get is based on his Wolfhound IIC, reverse engineered with IS tech, which violates the canon because we know what Wolfhounds Phelan Kell/Wolf/Ward/Kell-again piloted - and this is not one of them.

It is not a huge deal but it is not exactly the most canon friendly option.

True. In fact, Phelan Piloted the Wolfhound WLF-1, if my memory serves me right.

And the WLF-GR is pretty much exactly a WLF-1 that can equip ECM.

Who's to say that he didn't call his ride "Grinner" when he was with the Kell Hounds?

...which Phelan's IS Wolfhound did not.

He did call it Grinner, but again, it was a standard introtech Wolfhound. It did not even have an ERLL.

Do you want KingStars? That's how you get KingStars!

Or should that be CrabStars? Where's the B33f when you need him?

Earlier in this thread someone asked if there was any advantage to preordering these heroes and i said no, because its pretty much the same deal as the clan heroes last fall...

Was thinkin 'bout this and its not exactly true... i am guessing, like the clan heroes, there will be an event (Easter?) Where extra loot bags will be granted based on these purchases. It's a guess, but if they did it, it would follow the pattern. And no, you wouldn't have to buy heroes before the event starts, but its a clear incentive to pull in those that are on the fence...

I am not advocating that anyone buy heroes now if thats your incentive, just wanted to clarify a statement made earlier...

Ok I have a question for one of the devs in relation CRB-FL with Judith Faber being its pilot, since that stuck out to me as she was one of the 2 that was pretty heavily involved with being the start of what would eventually bring down Smoke Jaguar.

What are the chances we'll get the other half of that, namely Trent's Timber Wolf or his Ebon Jaguar/Cauldron Born in another clan hero wave?

Yes, as soon as I saw Judith's name attached to that Crab, i have to know now.

Personally I'm hoping the Urbie lights come on when you activate the onboard, super secret MASC it should have. You know...persuit mode.
