This is what the FAQ says:

Q: Can I upgrade from a regular pack to the Ultimate Pack?
The Ultimate Pack does not support upgrades from existing packs. Attempting to purchase the Ultimate Pack after already owning a Standard or Collector Pack will prompt you to purchase the remaining items individually.

So if an Ultimate Pack purchase is required to get the standing booster items, you are potentially locked out of them unless you buy the ultimate first and straight up.

But that doesn't rule out the possibility that could still get the booster items if you buy the requisite packs one by one. You're still spending exactly the same in the end.

PGI needs to clarify this.

If that is indeed their intention then they need to make that more apparent as in previous mechpack sales they have listed "1 Special Variant with custom Pattern, and a +30% C-Bill boost" with the [S] variant clearly labelled in the specs area whereas for this sale it simply reads "1 Special Variant (Cou-Prime) with Clan Civil War Paint Job" without any mention of a boost and with no [S] tag visible in either the list of package contents nor present within the mech spec sheets.

The cut 30 days of premium time however still equates to a decrease of $12USD (according to the current prices within the online store) from the overall financial value of both the standard and collector's packages. This is not covered within the FAQ and remains a confusing omission given that it was one of the core driving values of the mechpacks and undoubtedly had an impact upon player's purchasing decisions.

I guess the point I'm trying to make here and in my previous post is that I had hoped for just a little bit more from the following line as was delivered to us back in the 'Roadmap for January, February, and Beyond' post from earlier this year:

"You can look forward to the announcement of a new set of 'Mechs in early March, ushering in much more than a simple adjustment to 'Mech Pack structure...."

As it turns out, what they actually meant was the simple adjustment of removing $12USD in value from both the standard and collector's mechpacks and changing the remaining premium time from banked to active.

Agree, probably i will buy the Standard packs of Uziel and Mad Cat Mk.II, that not include the premium time, but the active premium time in July it's pure cruelty. I mean, summer holidays and summer things to do outside during weekends and free time.
I think people want to do something else in July and August, instead of beign forced to play MWO, in order to not waste the premium time!

Yeah I know this has been mentioned multiple times already but I have yet to see an answer to it. Why the cut in premium time for these packs and why change it from banked to active? Hell when I spent so much money on this game that's half the reason I did it for the premium time. Plus I really don't think the standing and hanging items add that much for old whales like me. When cbill refund for modules come I'll still have more cbills than needed to master my Mechs. Why get collectors or ultimate for both just for cbill variants, less active premium time than previous packs banked time, and are those medallions really worth the extra 5% cbills and experience.

Most probably an incentiviseation to get people to buy the more expensive packs rather than getting by happily with the premium time gathered from standard packs.
