Ive got one that should be added to the list simply for the lulz and lore. We got the Urbie even though it was considered a joke. Why havnt we ever gotten THE very first mech ever built? Thats right how about we add the MACKIE to the list of IS assaults. Yeah the default config is complete dreck but come on it was 2439 when it was first built they where doing the best with what they had.

I Vote and push that the Mackie be added to the poll and be the next IS mechpack.

Is from mechlist or general guessing because that some brutal nerfing of a mech that would and rightful cause a uproar if revealed to have such few hp's.

I got the information from a program called MekLab. It’s really helpful if you are trying to find an accurate depiction of what each mech variant has from the Tabletop. So basically it is a free version of every TRO stacked together. As for the estimated hardpoints, I count up how many weapons it has in each limb and add it to a location by saying something like 2B for two ballistics, or 1E for one energy. However if I see a high damage weapon occupying a limb with no other weapons like a Heavy Gauss Rifle or a PPC, I mostly add an extra hardpoint to compensate for more weapons or substitutions for the same damage. But even though the hardpoints I count up may not be accurate to what PGI would put out, there is a reason why I call them “estimated hardpoints” after all. Because they’re just my own estimated guesses on what I think they will be. However, I was actually suprised when I saw how accurate the Blood Asp’s hardpoints were when I made a guess about them before it’s release. But as for the engine size and types, I use the MekLab to find the engine and go to Smurfy to find the accurate engine speed that it will have in MWO.

OmnIMechs do not feature hardpoint inflation, so they'll always have only the amount of hardpoints required for the TT configuration. For them, the guesswork is in deciding which variants PGI will include.

For the next IS 75 ton Mech I'd suggest the War Dog.
Brings ecm, energy, missile and ballistic slots.
Sure the One-shot-SSRM2's need to be replaced with SSRM2 with one ton ammo and moved from the legs to the torso, but that's not a big thing.
Yeah, the only other variant WR-DG-03FC won't work with XL and Heavy Gauß in MWO so it needs to be modified as well. More place for PGI to come up with their own variants and as hero they could bring the Croaker from the TRO3055 entry of the War Dog:

"MechWarrior Hubert Turanga: Turanga and Croaker, his modified War Dog, have been staples on the Solaris arena circuits for more than a decade now.
Though the Croaker has almost no original components remaining from the time it walked off GM/Blackwell’s assembly lines twelve years ago, it is one of a handful of ’Mechs that have lasted through more than ten years of near-continuous action. Turanga, a recognized master on the freestyle circuits, has modified Croaker almost to the point of turning it into an OmniMech. In a matter of hours, his techs can reconfigure it with a variety of weapons and equipment, or given a day can even refit it with different armor."

That might could become a Solaris 7 hero that offers a few different load-out possibilities with different weapon slots...making it like a soft-opening of IS-OmniMechs! ;D

Yes, these legs won't allow torso-twist, but that can be fixed and still keep the unique look:

I wouldn't mind seeing the Rakshasa in MWO. The mech is essentially the IS's call to the Timber Wolf. Personally, I think that the Mech could be made easily by using the torso of the Catapult and the arms and legs of the Marauder. It makes sense seeing how the Timber Wolf got its IS nickname, "Mad Cat" from its appearance of resembling a Catapult and Marauder. I mean, look at it, the Rakshasa does look a bit like a Marauder/Catapult Frankenmech in a way.

Well, the Thanatos was made to emulate the Summoner and the Osiris was inspired by the Viper. But amen to that statement.

For IS Assault Mechs I think that the Charger and Thug would be good choices for Battletech DLC mechs, given that era's timeline. As with the Hatamoto-Chi, I can see it in a War of 3039 contract for Mechwarrior 5.

With the Vulcan it seems this polls influence has dropped considerably.

And sometimes, that is a good thing. A break from the "popular demands" here or there can benefit everyone. Plus as Ford and Chevy Sales demonstrate...popular demand and people actually knowing what's best aren't always exactly similar. ;)

But dang would love to see some other "non optimal" designs like the Kingfisher get a look.

I mean, if we can be spared the Hollander that would be cool.

Although I think you're plenty happy with your Vulcan now. It'd be good for the IS to get something good even if not "optimised"

Need several more Clan designs plus a choice few IS Omnimechs. Ares,Battle Cobra,Conjurer 2( Hellhound), Rifleman IIC for starters.

IS forces will realize Omnimechs are not pay to win.

IDK...since I largely stopped paying attention to the forums do to the IRL of 2017, I have found myself less worried about what is "good". I have had mostly good results when I do play with Annihilators, Roughnecks, Fafnirs, Assassins, etc. Hellspawn not so much, but for some dumb reason I like em anyhow. Wow can't believe the Assassin released that long ago, now. Ah well.

Anyhow, TBH, I was surprised by the timing of the Vulcan. I honestly expected a glut of 3025 mechs AFTER MW5 shipped. Every 3025 mech revealed before is that much less "sizzle" for MW5 to claim as "value".

*shrugs* Every mech chosen.. some will love, some will hate. So can't say I'm losing sleep over any of em, anymore. But yeah, I am glad to have the Vulcan.

However, 3025 mechs released now(provided they aren't Unseen), means more money made off the HBS crowd, as it means more mechs for both that game and MW5.

I wouldn't mind seeing some of the early Clan mechs in game. Stuff like the Great Wyrm and the Conjuror.
