Problem is that poll is outdated and the guy who manages it has been gone all year. A lot has changed in 3 years, heck I doubt most of the voters are still around.

It was last updated 06 March 2019, corresponding to the last mech pack the Dervish so be quiet.

That doesn't change much, we're still dealing with a poll which has 3 years worth of accumulated votes. At the very least the poll should be reset periodically, we shouldn't be counting "dead" players votes.

No, those potentially returning players matter too. It is always easier to get returning players than new players, so the poll has been always been valid and basically has been maintained right until PGI stopped releasing mechs.

Top line of mechs : Hollander, Crusader and Stone Rhino are all popular and you still see postings. For me I also have been pushing Hollander especially.

Most polls are time-sensitive, but in this case, what's favored with the target demographic (players of this game past present and future) is not going to change much. Most of these are fan favorites that they've had for years. It doesn't really matter if they're currently playing this game or not because we can roughly assume remaining players feel about the same. This wouldn't be true of most things in this game, but for new mechs I think it probably holds true.

Due to your matching Poll over in Feature Suggestions not being directly discussable, you have forced me to necro-bump this thread in General Discussion after a Near-9-Month downtime that has caused it to become buried down on Page 35 of this board. I'm not happy about that, seeing as I do have a Constructive Note to give you in this post, and I had better not catch flak from the Moderators over this!!!

That (of course) brings me to that Constructive Note for you... In examining your Poll over in Feature Suggestions as of when I am posting this, both the "I.S. Heavy" & "I.S. Assault" Voting Categories currently do not have a "No Opinion" option available to select. Unfortunately, due to how the Forum's Poll System is designed, that will prevent someone from placing their Vote if they don't select an option which they may not agree with. That hurts the Vote Collection which your Poll was meant to do, and I thought you might like to fix that.

Why not just vote for the mech that you dislike least?

I think the poll you are talking about is way out of date. I made another one at the start of this year with fewer options but that one did not get pinned to the feature suggestion forum. I'm also not super updating it right now because PGI has yet to indicate willingness or available manpower to create new mechs.

EDIT: Ah, now I remember why I removed No Opinion from those classes. We are limited to 20 entries, so putting in No Opinion would require removing an option that wouldn't exactly be fair, so perhaps just vote for the least popular one in those categories if you don't like them?

Hey... wait-a-minute... I just counted, and you only have 19 "I.S. Heavy" options and 17 "I.S. Assault" options there. And it happens that I just thought of a useful & constructive fix for your Pinned Poll that's currently easy to reach. How about making all the ones that say "No Opinion" instead say "No Opinion / Other" so that you're always covered on having a slot where unmentioned Mechs can be voted? Then all you would have to do is add the "No Opinion / Other" slot to the "I.S. Heavy" & "I.S. Assault" groups, and your coverage is effectively complete! I wish that I had thought of and seen this before, and you have my apologies for not thinking of it sooner. But now I'm left to ask... What do you think of that little idea?

Fair enough. That was the original issue but looking back at the changelog, removing the Champion, Charger, Hatamoto and Marauder II opened up space, so it is done.

At least, I added in No Opinion. Now I see the Other in your suggestion. I will heed that suggestion on the next poll that I create if it looks like PGI is equipped to once again make new Mech chassis. Still uncertain if they have or plan to have the development resources.
