Since the Arctic Wolf OmniMech/BattleMech pack, I've been wondering if they would release it as both the Hollander (35 tons) and Hollander II (45 tons). Not sure if the Hollander III is also 45 tons.

Under gunned? Sure!
Exploding torsos? Sure!
Slower than an Urbie? Sure!
Easy to isolate cannon torso? Sure!

It's very unfortunate as many of the IS mechs don't seem fit for purpose. And yet 'we' keep voting for more... and then 'we' decry how bad a mech is (especially compared with xyz clan mech)... and then 'we' vote for more of the same...

Speaking of mech boobs, I'm sure I saw a particularly flat chested old thanatos pic recently. The current artwork looks mint, but the other, much uglier artwork looked far more practical.

Oh well shrugs...

Honestly the Thanatos will have some decent variants, its better than many of the other options.

What is getting me is that some players (especially CLAN loyalists) are saying things like "OMG the Thanatos is a game changer, OMGWTFBBQ ECM + JJs, its gonna be so good!" which is far from the truth. It will probably be an above average IS heavy, but its not going to touch the top tier IS heavies let alone the Clan ones, unless there are some quirks to help it out. But.. it has ECM AND JJs so quirks are going to be used sparingly, I'm sure.

SSW does not have 3145 Mechs most you cam rebuild. (Most RISC equipment is available)
I can provide some if necessary

Piranha seems like a no-brainer at this point for the next Clan Light.

For Clan Medium, I still stand by either the Black Lanner (meh) or the Pouncer (YAY!)

As for IS Medium? While the Men Shen would be amazing, IS Omnis are supposed to be a no-go until at least next year, right? Much as I want my Starslayer, another "MW4 'mech" seems likely, after the Thanatos.

Hellspawn offers ECM and JJs with various flavours of energy and missiles.

Chimera offers JJS but no ECM with all the weapon flavours.

Personally, I want the Chimera, though the Hellpsawn adds more to the 45 ton range as a potential jumping ECM splat brawler. That and the burns form the Uziel are still sore, so I'll take functional and ugly over pretty but redundant this time.

Judging by the order on the roadmap, I'm expecting the IS medium first then the Piranha then the Clan medium.

Well think about it: Thanatos will be released in November, and - unless the roadmap list is in chronological order - it is probably followed by a Clan Mech in December. And every Mech after that is next year, which makes IS Omnis possible. I would prefer the Men Shen for novelty and performance, but I guess PGI goes for yet another MW:4-unit even if it is less novel, less powerful and less important in the lore...
