Cept it would be able to mount a 360? also has 6 more ballistic points.

Except due to tonnage and ammo needs you'd never use a 360 or every hp the Bane has. 8 uac2s is basically the most you can use while still have enough ammo. The biggest upgrade is the Bane has high mounts and a 9 missile hp variant.

There is actually no guarantee of this.

What do you think the next mech is going to be? The Hellfire and the Flea were just announced. Before them the Blood Asp and Fafnir. Nothing is set in stone but with the last mech being Clan and having just gotten an assault and light I'm betting on an IS Med or Heavy.

Excluding omnis because they're not happening yet and mechs with HG trouble the probable mechs are:
Meds
- Dervish, a Griffin basically. Major differences being it has different launcher locations and seemingly no shield arms.
- Chimera, mixed hardpoints and disatrous hitboxes
- Sha Yu, basically a Cicada with arm mounts but possibly worse hitboxes
- Starslayer, sort of a Hunchi and Shawk mix.

Heavies
- Argus, decent hardpoints but hitboxes could be Dragon-esc.
(Need more heavy votes tbh)
- Guillotine, it's a Grasshopper but with it's missile in the RT is could be useful but it's still a lone missile launcher
- Flashman, basically an upgrade over the BK in every way. Higher mounts, faster, etc.
- Lao Hu, questionable hitboxes and a mixed bag of hps let's just go with the Dragonfire instead

I would say Argus next heavy it's pretty much high in the vote box and have a huge nostalgia group behind it, could be decent and worth while to run.

Mediums I don't really know tbh, and kinda of a mix bag for me.

I just think the first IS omni would get more fanfare but of course it's entirly possible.

In mw4 the Argus was with high quality hitboxes and design: very little STs and CT. One of my fav.
Beside the ballistic arm is not on ground level like the dragon.

Of course but this is MWO and right now it's all suposition until we at least get Alex's rendition and even then. Still, if we're lucky it will be like the Marauder and be a micro-twister

The Argus is pretty much the IS MW:4-original with the best chances of succeeding in MWO. I also like it's style, fast and with a big gun in the arm. Especially AGS-5D and -6F look nice to me.

I am not sure about the hit boxes though; too many big, flat surfaces. It should be possible to protect an ST, but the CT looks like a very easy target. But the big arms with take up some of the volume, and that's good.

And as for the "nostalgia" and "vote box"... well that did not help the Uziel, the Hellspawn, the Thanatos etc. Very few people stick to their vote it seems, only dedicated fans. The others abandoned what they voted for. Sadly so.

Well the current IS line-up is pretty good anyway. There are only very few options I miss, like the 55t energy boat with JJ and good geometry (i.e. Lynx e.g....).

TO be totally honest..... Alex is failing all mechs recently.
Maybe he is working too much on mw5?

I'm very disappointed.

Mw4 Novacat is far better than Alex one, with his barn torsi, and lower arms.

Fafnir with short torsi is..... well, you know, for nostalgia SIZE MATTERS, and now we have a fafnir with 2 short peenuts, BUT barn torsi anyway.

I still would take the Argus, 'cause it was my second fav mech in mw4. Hoping Alex will not fail that too.

Edit.... forget to mention....the Nightstar..... that thing is very bleah....
I was hoping for something like this:
https://i.pinimg.com...5f892260277.jpg

and we have those awful marauder side torsi with side tumors

The 80 ton Clan Slot deserves another mech. So the Canis should be a perfect candidate.

Pixi IIC would be solid, as would the Warhammer IIC...

You are right about that, however, let's see how PGI handles the Hapless Goons first before we worry about those two mechs.

For you guys, what creates the most interest when learning about a mech for the first time?

Aesthetics, functionality, outlier.
