Well negative reviews are piling up, PGI should get worried. It's never been this bad since it came out on the Steam.

I've actually looked through some of those negative reviews. Bittervets trashing PGI. It's really sad. Everyone says how great Mechwarrior Living Legends is, but they keep coming back to this.

Yeah, like all the non-pro IS players who whine to nerf Clans and get better quirks because they don't know how to use "tactics" to overcome the "superior" firepower. Comments like yours cement my resolve to remain a Clan loyalist, even if Clan Mechs get nerfed into walking jokes.

On a side note, I searched for you in the Leaderboards for Faction, I could not find your rank... Do you play FW? If not then your entire argument for being against Clan nerfs is moot, or at the very best a sub-note.

Each side has advantages, but mudbloods do not understand what their strength is, and everything they have the intelligence to cry on the forum. You just do not think that I'm complaining for something, I can humiliate the mudbloods and with the help of a stick, what then will you be nerf? Make the clans play with one hand?

This account has not been around that long, I do not have a drop deck for FW, and I have not levelled mediums yet.

April going to have any real substantial updates or changes? Getting a new mech each month sucks when there is so much that needs fixed and changed. Really hope my 140 dollars investment pays off only other mech I will pay for is a bloodasp and don't think that is happening anytime soon
Faction play ?
New maps?
Balance to old modes, new modes?
Perks and mech balance
Mech tree and new or updated heat system?
Bugs and performance updates?

For all effective purposes, this is my only account now.

Likely confirmation bias at work; armor and structure values weren't touched.

EDIT: yeah, I just took my Warhawk out, had a side torso opened and took laser fire to my internals... didn't lose a single heat sink, despite that torso being full of them.

My point is that my armor was not open when the crits happened. I pilot a Summoner with nearly full armor, most of the times.

after downloading the patch i took my spider 5k out for hunting big clan targets and didnt notice anything in ttk. i didnt notice them losing weapons faster, they didnt die faster, nothing.

so keep calm clanners, you dont even have to play smarter or more defensive than before. you can just continue to stomp around just as you were.

Slowing down the kill would add to the game. I personally don't like pushing in a fresh assault mech, only to be insta-killed by two lights and a medium who blow trough over 100 CT armor in one shot. Of course, I doubt these changes will help, much.

As stated earlier here, it would be nice if they could add the old maps back into the game. They were fun, and I wouldn't think they would involve a lot of work to get back into the game.

One bug that I have noticed more than usual lately is getting shot on one side and taking the damage on the other. I think it's usually Gauss ,AC, and PPCs that do this. Always fun to get shot in the face and have my back cored out.
I've also noticed, at least with PPCs, that my shots sometimes go through people. It's not common, but it happens enough. And these weren't under the arms or legs, but dead center shots that just didn't connect.

Oh, and the 2 minute timer on disconnects. Could this be increased?
I DCed the other day a few times due to an application issue, which I figured out and resolved. But it took me about 3 or 4 minutes and 3 attempts to get back into the game. It was a FW game, and I got in just as the fun was starting, but because i was disconnected for longer than 2 minutes I got nothing for that game. No XP, no Cbils, nothing. (FW matches are long...I feel like I was cheated.)
If I was just after the XP and Cbils, and I knew that I couldn't get back before 2 minutes, then why even try. After 2 minutes, there's no incentive to get back in.

Other than that, we'll see how it goes after the patch. Like every other patch, I adapt. Posted Image

Ok Guys, so here's what happened to me immediately post-patch..

I load up the client, and it tells me that my 2 year old ATI R9 380 graphics card is suddenly unsupported, and asks me if I would like to continue, with unpredictable results (or something like that)

I was lik W.T.F.?!

The game actually works fine, but I have yet to test if the old graphics bug that arrived with the FW4.1 patch is still there (the one that turns your FW screens into a bloody strobe light when you Alt+Tab out and back in again).

A whole lot more heat sink, maybe. We have to, to keep our weapons cooler because they're hotter. Light doesn't come without a price. I think you need to consider more factors [Redacted].

I've considered all the factors, that's why I use primarily Clan mechs in competitive play.

And you need to read what I was responding too. Someone said "Our weapons are hotter", and i said "they are lighter and your DHS are smaller so you can pack in more DHS", and your response was "yeah but they are hotter". So we have come around full circle, excellent work!

While this working to achieve balance is all fine and dandy, why not do the basic thing and for faction play use the Company VS Star setup like in the original BT world scenarios. Inner Sphere was only able to make wins either with one-off trickery or heavy numbers. Clan does their bidding system so as to expend the least amount of resources, IS is under no such restriction.

Because in order for their to be a star vs company balance, you have to set the weapon values as exactly what they are in tabletop, and eliminate all the quirks from everybody. At which time every player who can, will choose to play as a clanner, except the loyalist IS lore hounds, and then it'll take even longer for the matchmaker to put games together.

Still can't patch. Don't want to play now but may in the future so its no big deal. Peace out!

Did you have enough Free Disk Space BEFORE you ever tried to patch? If not, and the patch cycle blew up, then you're going to need about 40 GB to 50 GB open for a Full Reinstall. You may even have to run an Uninstall (but WITHOUT wiping your Saved Data) and then start reinstalling from the Installer Package that you first started with. PGI's Patcher can't determine where the problem initially happened, and has to start completely over again. After that's done, make sure whichever drive that MWO is installed on happens to have at least 35 GB free minimum constantly, or your problems will happen again. ;)

Bonus Tip: Create an Install Directory for MWO that happens to only have the permission "Everyone: Full Control" and nothing else. It takes care of a lot of Install-related and Multi-User problems. :D

Also, if you've already done all of this, post back with information on everything you've done so far. Or get in contact with MWO Support, which might help more.

@ PGI -- We're post-patch now... With your adjustments, the Inner Sphere's Catapult (particularly the 'A1' which has ONLY Arm-mount HardPoints) has indeed become too flimsy, and is in need of Structure/Armor Buffs. Further, the Clans need their Drop Deck Tonnages restored to Default values (250 Invasion, 55 Scouting) in order to better compete with the Inner Sphere's 55-ton Scout Mechs and larger Invasion Drop Decks. While you're at it, don't forget to give the 'SHC-B Left Torso' a small Armor Buff (about 6 points, which is NOT as much as I think it should have) to make up for the fact that it can NOT carry any offensive weaponry. Otherwise, you're invalidating the ShadowCat as a Scout Mech. <_<

Is anyone else experiencing problems sending text messages before scouting matches?

You're NOT the only one. I just had the same problem prior to my last two Scouting matches. Whoever is handling the Chat Code needs to have their pay docked until they fix it. Random PUGs being unable to start coordinating prior to a match is unforgivable, and only hurts the User Experience of MWO.

Oh why couldn't they just use the ingame short form name for the Assassin as A s s[x].

It would have been great to see lots of people getting their a s s' into gear.

"When it came to the Critical Hit system for Clans, we've identified that this was a fundamental point of imbalance. Due to the fact that Inner Sphere Components are larger and heavier, Inner Sphere Components were much more prone to being critted out directly because they had less overall Component Health to 'pad' the crit damage in comparison to their Clan counterparts.
This resulted in Inner Sphere 'Mechs suffering much more from Critical hits than the Clans, who can pack their 'Mechs with more Components of equal health."

That^ That right there^

That is why the changes were necessary. Go look at the side by side comparison of IS and Clan mechs. It's wrong to balance this?

I was playing after patching last night and can't say that I really noticed much difference in the game play beyond single weapons i my clan mech being taken out just a little more often. The reduced crit chance on the Clan targeting computers is a bit of a downer, but seems fair looking at the big picture and encourages the use of the larger TCs. I'm just waiting impatiently now for the rest of the skill tree to follow now.

The only real problem I want to note is the chat box in Scouting mode doesn't work correctly post patch.

I have to admit that I am increasingly confused by the amount of anger and aggression directed at this patch. I play Clan 95% of the time and though I'd like to see more diversity in the balancing scheme (a la Star Craft) I have to say that my experimenting in game with Clan and IS last night reminded me not only that there are distinct play styles needed to play each Tech type well, but also that the balance between the two sides seems to be closer than it has been in the past(I know this is at the expense of lore, but its needed for a PVP game, which is a fair concession until more elaborate systems can be produced). Until IS mechs get melee, the current compromises seem to be rolling out in a reasonably fair way (melee would really provide a good justification as to why clan mechs nee to be more mobile and why better range would be balanced against short ranged beatings).

Did they post a list somewhere of what the component health stats are now? I'm on my afternoon coffee, having trouble finding anything like that in the post.

Nevermind. Smurfy's got the updated health stats.
