I feel pretty dumb supporting an Atlas with 4 small lasers and 2 LRM5s.

Just need to make allies target-able like every other MW game.

Being able to see teammates' paper dolls would be good too. Then you would know if the guy at 80% health has that damage spread all around his mech or if his CT is wide open.

Information Warfare does not apply to your own team. :3

And no matter what your packing, someone will tell you the same thing, if they could see your load-out. Because what your Packing, Ain't what they want you to be packing. Meta load-out or otherwise...

Be very careful what you wish OP for as this is totally a double edged sword. Seems PGI is the only ones to see that plainly.

OP the amount of griefing and trolling that would happen would ruin the game

Ever drop in the wrong Mech?
Ever test crazy builds?
Ever run fun/lore builds?

I was playing like 65hrs a week so I was testing stuff even in FP

Of course testing would come to an end with the new skill tree
So the trolling would even be higher

No you run your Mech and do what you want
And I will run mine and do what I want

You're a fool for thinking this.

Teamkills happen regardless of reason.

Targeting teammates was always doable in MW2, MW3 AND MW4. What's the holdup? Intentional Lostech™?

Totally agree! Too many cockpit monitors with squiggly bits and unreadable numbers already, nobody wants those replaced with friendly information.

also instead of all your teammates being the same blue color they need to give each lance a different color so you can instantly see where your lancemates are. that would help a lot when playing with friends because you could see where your friends are.

Errm.....uhhhm......are you aware that this is already the case in this game?

except its not the case. your friends arnt always placed in your own lance you know. currently only your own lance is distinguished by color. but the other two lances use the same exact color. all three lances should have their own uniquely different colors so you can better tell all three lances apart.

if it was already the case I wouldnt be suggesting it. obviously.

apparently not lol.

although it would be cool if cockpit monitors displayed useful information instead of just being stuffed with atlas heads and unreadable squigglies.

If you want "role warfare" to work better with PUG teams (particularly in the solo queue), having an idea what your teammate can and cannot do by their loadout gives a better idea on what you should do (even if your teammate is clueless).

One can always try idk..... Asking? Lostech, I know, but VOIP and chat box both work last time I checked. If they aren't willing to reply, they probably aren't worth trying to team up with, either.

Agreed with OP. I would also love to have an option in the settings menu to show mech "nicknames" on yourself, friendly, enemy or all.

and the decals aint? yet still people uses them for alot of odd and interesting reasons, same for bizarre colors used for camo.
It should be an option. If you dont want to see others names, so toggle it off. Shouldnt take much to implement such a seemingly easy option, or what? *shrugs*

Same thing for seeing teammates loadouts too.

This idea was proposed, in a way, as part of the Skill Tree by the community. It made too much sense to do, as with the suggestions here, so it'll never happen.

If the skills were divided into Roles, with different Roles have appropriate skills, you can could then pick 1 Role and some of the skills in that Role for a given mech at any given time.

Then, display the Role in the team info when you hit Tab and/or with your allies info when you hit Q. I don't need to know exactly the loadout of my allies, but it makes a huge different if our team is mostly Brawlers vs. Fire Support, and if we have enough Scouts and Skirmishes in mobile game modes, etc.

Noone realistically does this during a match as ironically it's not hard to find/build loadouts. Most people don't really spend their time typing/explaining out their loadouts during the initial parts of a match (aka it takes too much time, and you'll not get everyone to share theirs while wasting precious time to get to the point of attack).

This has been asked for multiple times before to given no answer or a Lostech™-like based answer ("we dunno how to do this"). Apparently we can't have nice things, like being able to configure chain fire in the mechlab... but hey, we'll get another mechpack instead.

Are you aware that you can just go look at the mech and see what it is carrying? When in a light I do this all of the time to see if the Atlas, King Crabs or Spirit Bears are carrying lurms. If they are I won't bother protecting them. Sensible or things like Archers or Mad Dogs I will look out for though.

That is true for some mechs but not all. But, I applaud your observational ability.

All those games were also made as single player experiences first and multiplayer second.

I'm not sure this would be a good or bad thing. There are probably ding-dongs out there that would get riled up when someone used a non-standard or seemingly inferior build, but there might be others that could help (but probably more former than later).

Most of the time I can pay enough attention to figure out what the mech is carrying as soon as they fire a few times.

I honestly think we are kinda spoiled in the radar, spotting and information tech area in this game, but I have my doubts that it is going to change much in that department, otherwise this could get added to that.
