Well I was a comp player in the late shogun 2, early rome 2 era. Counts for something. stopped because my group disbanded Posted Image . Oh, how long ago that was. At least that is what got me into MWO, or else I would still be stuck in my total war bubble.

I think that players that are not participants in some player driven competitive league should limit their posts so that comp players can get on with roundtable type stuff.

Cause I'm interested in hearing from people with comp experience.

If I was interested in anything else I would be reading a different thread in a different part of the forum.

Carry on

The competitive scene doesn't pay for this forum. People like me do.

ok guys please remember to Keep it civil,

i know many of us are very passionate about our views and thoughts,
we love this game and or the BattleTech universe of which it is based upon,

we all have are own views and understandings of how things work in MWO,
be please remember no one person may have all the info, please keep an open mind,

you may have information they do not that proves your point,
and they may have information you do not that proves their point,

because none of us can say 100% that we know exactly what information the other has please be understanding,
listen and learn from your Peers, even if you think you are correct in your assumptions, please keep an open mind,
try to see where they are coming from, try to see how they see it, it will better help both of you,

Thank you,

just make a 1 v 1 match maker and we will listen to the top 25 people.

that way no excuses on, who knows how to play or not,

with no relying on teams for help.

just your skills alone to keep you alive.

or a FFA match maker would be nice :-D

also, what makes someone a professional mechwarrior gamer? competition match?

As ridulously unbalanced as either of those could be, i would love to see them... give us spectator modes so we can watch matches, perhaps on a delay...

Did anyone tell PGI during this Roundtable that we want our old maps back along with the new ones? Those weren't bad for 8v8...

You're mistakenly assuming that whales are not comp guys.

If people really want "balance" to do the "competitive" "thing", just use the same mechs on both sides and stop to violate battletech and make things all the same that are just not.

Yep, the "worst teams" are using them and winning with them in specific niche circumstances. Like Domination mode in SL 6v6. This is the point people are trying to get you to understand. GR/PPC is a great way to go in many (probably MOST situations), but competitive players and those into min/maxing/optimizing (call it what you like) prefer to find the best mech/build combinations for the right maps and roles in game.

In most situations, the GAR doesn't get run at all. But it can shine in Domination based leagues with less total players per side and smart teams figured that out and used it. Isen won their match tonight using those mechs (and encountering those mechs occasionally vs NS). Neither of them are teams to be simply ignored as "worst comp teams."

ISEN for Div A!!

Have any statistics to back that up? I play in competitive leagues and buy mechpacks on a regular basis, and I know Im not the only competitive player that buys mech packs, because I see members of comp teams in newly released mechs all the time. Make no mistake, competitive players are very often whales.

Don't let him get you riled up. He's trying to make a PGI thread directed at comp play about him, an admitted non-comp player. He is either trolling or does not know how to navigate the forums to find the section for non-competitive whale threads apparently...
