Can someone explain how a CW round table is what is needed to improve/fix comp and MWO in general?

True, comp can only exist because the base MWO game exists. The main focus should be non-comp CW and QP, although I do believe that comp has it's place in bringing attention to MWO.

why are you trying to pick a fight(which is actually against the COC).

Gonna be surprised a mod doesn't come your way. I was talking about the comp scene. Enjoy the report and I'll keep reporting stuff like that, just block me and have a nice life.

Report all you want. I'm not breaking any rules. Remember how it ended for the boy who cried wolf.

As you have never participated in comp play, I'll forgive you for not having a full grasp of it's meaning/place in the community. Comp teams put in considerable amounts of time into builds, strategy, timing, mechs, scrims - the works. It's important to them(us).

However;

tired of reading nonsense. Moving on to the next one,but Keep wasting text space. none of that has to do with the comp announcement.

Being utterly dismissive and calling actual comp players/participants views as nonsense - That is just plainly ignorant and rude. Right from the get-go you said:

using the comp scene as a way to balance is not a good way to go about doing that.

Where did the original post mention anything about balance? Fact is, it didn't. You immediately tried to derail the thread from the outset by trying to cause an argument with off topic rubbish, as usual.

If you don't agree with something that perfectly is fine. Post once and move on. Don't post a dozen times carrying on about it and derailing thread after thread. People are getting sick of it and hence why you keep getting warnings/holidays.

Either contribute something to the thread or, move on.

I don't see anywhere in the original post that says anything about this being about Faction Play?

Comp/League is not FP. That said, some of the stuff Odins & Jay etc have said can actually carry over to general MWO and some QP/map improvements etc. Everyone single player is a winner if they get addressed, I see nothing bad coming from that at all.

I agree the spectator tool needs to be easier to use, and support more spectator slots. Like a 3d application where if you hit middle mouse or right mouse you can turn or pan the camera, while left mouse lets you pick a mech. You should be able to easily select a mech and see its armor readout, or even go into a kind of 3rd person view following a mech thats selected. Having a single hotkey to cycle through mechs would be nice.

Also if only there was support for more than 1v1 on the solaris stadium map, is there any way of adding up to like 4 players at once?

Steiner staduim could really use sound effects ala mw4 solaris style too.

not sure if that is the right place for it but things like seismic sensor could use a small overhaul. you could set the detection range based on tonnage, doesnt make sense that a locust sends the same vibrations through the ground as an atlas. would be kinda smooth if you could "sneak" or trick the sensor by walking very slowly or carefully.

or would be nice if we could see the installed modules in spectater mode. players of my team often ask me if i got an capture module in my spider 5v which i decline because it works only on the mode with the 5 flag and this mode is voted way too rarely to be effective. seeing the modules would maybe bring some improvment tips from other players.

ROUNDTABLE, HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Who still has confidence in a normal roundtable, i can still remember the debacle when we had 40 pages of round table questions and rush only talked towards the twitch audience about his ideas (that time the buckets i think, wich wasn't bad on it own), he just passed all the players outlined improvements.

Even though non-comp, my advice would be to fix the game first. This is not hating or anything, but basic problem which would really annoy me, were I a comp player.

- Level-LoD with popping-in geometry and hidden walls all over the place. Why isn't there a decent preset that shows at least basic level geometry like hill ridges at their maxium LoD?
- Hitboxes and Hitreg (like the SNV that takes damage to it's ST instead of the leg - no, I do not have videos handy, because I ain't shredding my SSD for unpaid PGI-QC jobs. (ER-) PPCs in general, were every third hit or so just goes right through - i still suspect micro-holes in the models...)
- ban Macros (for avoiding UAC-Jam for example)
- "Resolution cheats" should be investigated. I keep hearing about them, though I dunno what exactly is done there. But regardless, for Comp, everything should be levelled as much as possible, making player skill the deciding factor.
- and of course, gamma-adjustment- tricks should be off the table. Make Night-Vision mandatory for night maps.

Another roundtable, because they last ones resulted in amazing improvements. Oh wait...

And now for a feature that does interest even less players by a wide margin. Yeah, brilliant.

The interview with Chris was just a sad read. " ...try to diversify the ‘Mech line as a whole" - keeps nerfing IS mechs. Yeah right.

CW and the game as a whole have been the main focus of numerous round tables. I'm pretty sure we've had absolutely zero on the topic of specifically competitive play. So this is a first.

I wonder what the time spots for development, I don't see anything happening this year with fixes. Sounds like some mechcon stuff and tidbtits for announcements
If he has me on ignore fine. Guys, and the ones that have a problem with me. Put me on ignore because I am just going to report the post just aimed at me with subtle attacks and other Coc violate actions. I had my fun, but I am over it now. The main response is going to be a report.

I am glad to hear you get to passively aggressively threaten others with reports to effectively stifle legitimate criticism of your often not great ideas (I said often not always). It just makes me want to challenge your asinine point of view that much more. You jump into most threads and quickly become the center of any given argument. At some point you need to look at a mirror. Even the few times I happen to agree with you, you are in an argument with what seems like 1/4 to 1/2 of a given forum post. It almost seems like you look forward to a forum post becoming about the argument with you as opposed to the given topic at hand.

Now, if others report you because they disagree or argue with you, I don't agree with them doing that either.

As a non comp player I would like to ask what has improved in the game since the "pro gaming" approach was choosen?

I dont see anything instead of wasted money for a tournament that wasn`t even professionally promoted.

Some more maps or game modes would bring more value to me than to try to compete with LoL.

The best thing that could ever happen to comp play: Give all of the players stock IS mechs, all the same type and let them duke it out. Thats how you really measure skill. No ER PPC -Gauss meta BS. No UAC dakka spam. No poptarting.

I would love to hear the whining if that were to happen. All of the Tier I teams who cant play outside of clan mechs would pull from the tournament and would show their true skills or lack there of.

The best players are the best players. The meta has changed several times, a couple times very significantly. It hasn't suddenly made others players replace the best players. One of the things that makes the best players the best is the ability to adapt to whatever they're given, both in matches and in the mechlab (a part of this game whether you like it or not).
