Play em with the 3LPL or 4LL/ERLL builds and they are okay. Play them as anything else and you really would be better off playing the damn Jenner or Cicada.

I played the Jenner IIC and that thing is a pain to run when you know that just a random stray shot can cripple you, Cicada no word on it but I'll pick some Quickdraws and see what I can do.

Cicada's are awesome fun!!

Edit: Them and vipers... Jenner's have 35 ton disease - really messes with fun

You're complaining about a Timberwolf being lousy? Really? It's still considered one of the best heavies in the game. Upon release it was ridiculously overpowered. Now it's about right. It's a really good 'mech, but not stupid OP. If you can't do well in a balanced Timberwolf then you need to, as has been said earlier in this thread, "git gud".

In these days of clan gauss/erppc combos, I really really miss the Tdr 9S with its erppc quirks.

Your just a forum troll that's all trying to be offensive when you know your wrong I could pull up 300 pages of changes and nerfs they have done since 2011 but it would be against the golden rules.

And yes many of us old guard had day 1 founders accounts and others to test with nothing new you yourself know this as almost everyone you included have other accounts.

You and others have your opinions I have mine but Im not the one being offensive here you are good day sir.

P.S MY opinion is MWO needs to be rebalanced by other means not nerfing mechs as it is my opinion the TTK is to high which most players hate. Longer mech lives or playing time per battle might even bring back some players to MWO along with new players.

Tarogato a troll? The one dude in this forum that backs his claims with statistical analysis?

If Tarogato is a troll, he is a big green one:

KingCobra its the physics of forums no matter what you say someone says the complete
Opposite

The first time they nerfed the TW I called my CC company lol
That was back in 2014 people convinced me this was normal

MWO has been a roller coaster of nerfing and buffing since I started playing
They call it balance I call it a joke ha ha

The most hated mech in the game is the TW
I remember when they nerfed the missile omni pods my TW flew like a viper lol

When they nerfed the T-bolts i sold all but the free one
Sold all but one EBJ because of nerfs

Its just how things work

Even as an Inner Sphere only pilot I still feel the Timber Wolf needs armor or structure quirks, the OP is right, its really easy to take off a torso or CT on a Timby, even if its like +5 or something small.

Anyhow my favorite nerfed mech is the BLK-6 Black Knight, the other Black Knights are still ok, but I use to love the 6 because of the dual ams.

The Quickdraw IV-4 is going to get nerfed when skill tree comes out, but it is admittedly OP right now, but I love that mech too.

IV4? OP? Wat. Tgey crumple after a stern glance, they ought to keep that rate of fire as compensation.

On the original topic of this thread I miss my Jenner IIC and its lost ability to actually get close to an enemy without getting one-shot before the Great Embiggening.

Yet here we are, quoting and not quoting...

Just another bunch of stories. Much like this mythical nerfing of a TBR that is just another tall story.

IE can't quote, so he's probably using that

Shadowcat...

Hey PGI, I am missing those quirks the SHC used to have... those couple points in the structure would not hurt balance due to the current clan critical damage.

The problem that you are witnessing is not the result of nerfs. In fact, it is quite the opposite. It is called "power creep". The TimberWolf was once the most powerful and feared Mech in the game. It has now been overtaken by the likes of the Kodiak, Night Gyr and Hunchback IIC all of which can carry multiple Gauss or PPC loadouts or dakka loadouts that will drop an opposing Mech very quickly.

The TimberWolf has not been nerfed. It has been surpassed.

The first real nerf to the Timby will most likely come with the engine decoupling changes. So there is something for you to look forward to.

OP.

OP?

OP!!!???

Methinks you are confusing the IV-4 with something else. In order to use those "OP" quirks of the IV-4 you have to, more often than not, face tank with it (shooting and twisting doesn't really allow you to utilize those cool down quirks). Face tanking, even with a mech having so much extra armor via quirks is a losing proposition. For every match I do amazing in my IV-4, I bet I have a half dozen where I am at best adequate and more likely dead before I even get to engage. Between the gorilla arm mounts, the limited hardpoints, and the limited max engine, the IV-4 is one of the lowest tiered mechs on metamechs.com for a reason.

So while yes, PGI is planning on nerffing it with the skills tree lets not encourage them, OK?

Oh man. I forgot about the Huggin. Why did I forget?
Bcause PGI nerffed it to such an extent that it has been wiped from my memory. All the joy of running around the lava rivers of old terra therma backing mechs with rapid fire SRM-4s. All gone. All forgotten.

Huggin wins this sadistic contest.
Well played Quicksilver.

Executioner. Managed to increase in size to be the biggest mech in the game when the rescaling happened and the faulty hit boxes were never fixed on the mech. Despite torso twisting i still managed to get CT'ed from all over. MASC slightly helps with mobility but not enough to make a noticeable difference. It's up there on the list of crappiest mechs in the game with the gargoyle trailing not that far behind.

Oh boohoo, my poor T1 Timberwolf. Oh the good ole days of the indestructible Cheetah. Waaah! I miss my Black Knight with all its hard points and all its extra range and all its extra structure.

God damn amateurs.

You want a mech that needs quirks to be viable yet has been hit now three times in the last year? Fine. Go play Quickdraws. The 4G, the 4H and even the 5K.

Structure, agility, weapons all nerfed following rescale in June then again in July. I would argue that the SRM spread nerf this last month was yet another nerf to them, and it was particularly cruel to the 4G and 4H since unless you are running the boring 3LPL build (and why wouldn't you) the broken tube count means the only missiles you can reliably take are SRM4s. Now, if you want missiles you NEED Artemis if you want those racks to be viable at range; which is only 2-3 tons sure, but on a tonnage starved mech that hurts...a lot. If you are using those missile hard points as they are intended, then with a whole 4 energy hard points left that means all you have left is room for ML or MPLs. As someone so rudely put it to me recently: congrats you now have a slower, heavier Jenner.

And yet PGI keeps nerfing these oversized Jenners (and are proposing to further nerf them with the skills tree).

So don't even talk to me about your poor, pathetic Timberwolf.

Hasn't the Cheetah been nerfed 3 or 4 times too???
And the Oxide got nerfed 3 times over in one patch when it got made much bigger, lost half its quirks, and got a bigger movement profile.
And most the other 35tonners got 2 of those nerfs in one patch too. And they were never good.
