I dunno about you, but it sounds like someone isn't doing the basics.

that means absolutely nothing.

If their just gonna delay it till the summer, then f--- it, go balls to the walls with it and make the interfaction fights warden clans v crusader clans and katherine supporting houses and victor supporting houses. Mix up what faction is for a particular ideaology/person on a weekly basis and blame it on npc faction leaders and "politics. Totally civil war focused and furthering that hype.

Still irked its delayed, but since it is, run with it, pgi.

But keep the other clan v is que as is.

They got to keep the Special events running frequently. or maybe make them influenced by the players or maybe even character archetypes.

Just let pgi arrange by population/ faction w/l ratio. Its easier. Giving each faction leader a couple of inter-changeable voiceovers and a personality description and pair that with whatever faction characteristic buffs/ whatever that was discussed last roundtable, and well be ok on faction identity again.

Special events were due, already.

Another 6 months is likely... Long live the pile of failed promises and poor management at the development level.

Things of wasted time like Energy Draw, Escort... Getting Skill Tree to wrong so early. Not helping anything.

maybe larger factions would frequent special events more often? or maybe special events unique to certain factions, even if purely fore aesthetics

yea making stuff up isn't the basics. Should have figured the cheeleader squad would come out the minute i picked on one of their members.

Wow, you deleted your own post BW, the one where you tried to point out it was 3am my time. You really are good.

point is Carl, I know a thing or two about project management, having worked on projects under people. I know for a fact the people that whine about devs being siphoned off to MW5 have no clue what they are talking about.

I took a break from the game for a few months, and when I came back they had moved the Alpine Domination circle. I thought "Oh nice, now that one side doesn't get screwed." Imagine my surprise to discover that it's now the other side that gets screwed. Does PGI test any of this? Any decent player would have pointed out that the relocation is almost worse than the original.

yes, they do test their crap, and we are their lab rats.

I dont care what the arguements are or what the issue is, bloodwolf wins for pissing off the cheerleader club. Always fun to watch that. Also, great way to refer to him and his buddy. I gotta start using that one. 'Cheerleader club.' Till now ive been liking circlejerk brothers, but cheerleader club. Thats got a ring to it.

Well would you look at that, tweedle dee and tweedle doodle have hooked up in a post, good on you.

So because BW has worked on projects he knows project management, I wonder if the average mech player who has never played comp knows a thing or 2 and thinks they are an expert too.

Man, you make it too easy.

Your talking to a guy getting his Major in computer engineering... as far as managing resources for completing task whether its maps, or mechs or any new features. I am pretty sure they have the men they need. When it comes to the new game, the only people that may be moved are the veterans to help with the new project with a fresh team. Russ said that they did indeed grow and had new hands.

So, your immense experience - as a computer engineering undergraduate - has enabled you to be intimately familiar with the resource allocation practices of the software developer PGI.

I don't pretend to know as these MW5 conspiracy guys that think PGI is hording everyone to the new project, and MWO is just stripped of all development. Thats not how it works. These guys probably believe in big foot as well.
And, based on your intimate knowledge of resource allocation at PGI, anyone who points out PGI's factually observable failure to ship new features by the factually observable committed dates, "probably believes in Big Foot".

Bloodwolf, which mail order institute are you trying to get your Computer Engineer certificate from?

I - who incidentally am a Vice President in a Fortune 500 global information technology corporation - need to ensure our HR department never ever hires from there.

Thats what i was gonna say !!! and im laughing so hard that pgi are saying they've only moved alpine dom circle once not twice b4, I better make a thread about it before they fix the post.

Oh gawd blood wolf got to this thread before me, no point in posting in it its been derailed beyond saving =(
How much acid have you taken to think your completing a degree ?

Unless PGI has hired 3 new programmers for MWO not MW5 theres not way 1/4 of the stuff on this road map is going to happen.

I know a thing or two about project management.

This is mismanagement on one too many levels, even BEFORE MW5's development.

I actually have a bachelors in CS.

I get more use out of a bottle cap opener on my key chain and I quit drinking beer many years ago.

99.99999% of what is useful in practical application you pick up on the job.

No repair and rearm, still one bucket, factions still meaningless, planets still meaningless.

4.2 -> not interested
