More suicides, intentional running at the enemy, more disco. I haven't seen it this bad. More incursion!

Finished mine, took all day to do it though. I have no clue how I got "delivery failed", I suspect it happened earlier when I got tired of playing lights all day and switched to my mauler and got and accidental kill. I'm also pretty sure the dude didn't know he had the power cell because I didn't chase anyone down at all, just walking turret.

Glad it's over though, waiting for that map to come up was annoying.

I was able to complete it yesterday but kept reading here this morning.

I may have an idea how to partially solve the issue.
  • Remember that they cannot change/influence how often a particular game mode shows up at this point. It's not designed like this.
  • But they can select if a map shows up more often or less often so how they could partially solve the low rate of incursion would be to lower the chances for maps that are not compatible with incursion.
  • That way for the 3 days remaining those maps could see they chance of showing up being lowered to 0.25 instead of 1 for example:

- Canyon Network

- Terra Therma

- The Mining Collective

- Viridian Bog


But now maybe they would have to put initial numbers back for event completion! Posted Image

Still 3 days, keep playing and you'll eventually get it. I understand it could be frustrating when you only have a few hours of play time available in that time frame, it happened to me also a few times like being out of town for an event. It must be complex for PGI to have all the good paramters to satisfy everyone.

So I was wrong, looked up my stats and only 8 games of incursion in last 2 days. Still waiting for today though.

change the battery carrier to : get a kill/KMDD while carring a battery, should be more realistic to achieve, in fact, who want to collect batterys if all enemys want to kill u when u doit.

overall this is an easy event, exept for the map rate, and incursion is a prety good mode where u can play with strategy, thanks for that PGI, in my opinion this game needs more modes like incursion, domination and escort, without that this game is flat

So now we have concluded, that excluding some maps.
May conclude more incursion, we can conclude that we hve towait for them to take that conclusion and adapt to it.

They could at least give us the gametype filter back...but that would necessitate changing the system BACK to what it used to be, and PGI ain't having any of that! X(

The system was FINE when you could filter what game modes you wanted to play! Why they took control away from the individual and gave it to a mob of 24 random dudes, I'll never understand.

Since I'm new here I suppose when Incursion was being designed they tried making the battery have weight that would slow a Mech down? They could also have made it an object that would drop from a destroyed mech, and the generator would not provide a new one until the old one was used?

How do you think that would have played out?

You could even have it so that the Battery actually interfered with the carrying Mechs abilities such that ECM shut down.

Would've made getting the last category I need alot goddamn easier. XD

I'm about ready to just abandon it. This isn't a competition based on skill versus opponents, it's based on your ability to wrestle with PGI's game/map type selection system.

Since maps take priority over modes, just reduce the frequency of non-Incursion compatible maps to whatever level makes Incursion show up at the desired rate for the duration of the event. The rest will work itself out naturally.

Thanks for the maths correction! Still, it is a ridiculously low percentage, which seems to correspond to what we are seeing on average.

Salty version: PGI should have done this calculation when designing the event, and tweak the probabilities and goals accordingly.

Just to pour salt, with an added dash of lemon.

I just got my Battery Carrier kill.

Sheer luck that the Mech that picked it up was a Medium and I got to plink into his back.

Even luckier that I got it; after I locked him up, announced he was carrying, and then watched the LRM swarm come in.

Still not found a Roughneck though, are they shy or something?

how about a repair or rearming bay in Incursion?

mechs would only replace up to 60% armour (no internals) and can only enter if 25% or less..?

+ a rearming bay only for mechs with at least one weapon system at 0 ammo.

I just need to destroy 2 more base elements. That shouldn't be too hard. I had lots of bad games in a light though trying to do the fuel cell thing. My locust game isn't very strong and got obliterated in a few non-incursion game modes.

Almost 4 hours of playing and only 1 (!!!) incursion mode (and 3 game crash). Good job PGI!

What this event needs more of is RNG requirements that the player can't control.

Drop in Charlie Lance 0 of 1
Every player ready up in less than 5s
etc etc

I have 0 problems with the event objectives being difficult to achieve, but they shouldn't be difficult to achieve because the RNG doesn't like you enough to even give you an opportunity to achieve them.
