Excuse me? Perhaps you mean to say:
Blame the smart people in the community for this one. Because smart people don't spend money on nonsense when they can save a ton by getting the same thing, for far less.
Why the hell would I spend all my money on modules for every robot? That's insane.

I guess I'm supposed to be punished for buying Seismic Sensor when it first came out (and it was truly more OP then than it is now).
Can't have it in C-bills, but that GSP-Storecredit bro. That is as good as gold (more like reverse Midas touch).

more like he time traveled from 2 years in the future and stole the cheese after you payed for it. its ridiciulous and it sounds like a episode of rick and morty. but this is what PGI is doing to us.
It kind of feels like I was just biting into my thick juicy burger when out of no where I got hit over the head, taken advantage of, robbed, and left with a cheeseless burger that is now cold and stale. But hey! its got a double bun!

Also I think its BS you can get modules in mech packs and stuff for real money, and now they're doing this.
Everyone wants their c-bills back, and GXP back 1 to 1. anything else is unfair.

Don't forget that cap accelerator that used to mean something.....

I don't even know if Cap Accel does anything for Incursion or Scouting (it's not something you're capping).
I should be using it more for certain things in comp play (because, circles yo), but then again, who can say no to all teh Seismic Sensors.

I thought it was when they reduced the time needed to cap points in conquest and assault, pretty much rendering them useless.

I wonder if they even understand that to the "old timers" that have 50+ (some in the hundreds) of fully mastered mechs that XP of any form is just fluff. I bet they have NO CLUE how many people are sitting on HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of GXP right now, as the game stands.
Those modules weren't free. They weren't cheap, either. Screw how many XP it took to unlock the module, they cost 6,000,000 cbills each in the beginning.
And you're going to exchange that currency that was used to purchase the module (the cbill) with some kind of XP crap that allows me to unlock the skill tree? I can do that on my own, pinhead. Give me my cbills back or let me keep using the damn modules. If you give me cbills, I'll buy mechs. Simple as that.
I'm not wasting real money on this title again.

But i guess the upside is, i don't need to spend a dime till new weapons come out, so everything i get will be saved for that. I will also have a ton of Unlocks for future mechs i don't even own yet, so it will save me 4m a mech.. I must have 20 mechs i haven't even started to level yet.
I dunno if its a good thing or bad thing. If i can unlock at the same cost as my modules value, then in the end it doesn't mater what i have sitting in my account. But just not having to buy 3 mechs will put me ahead. Can't wait to start playing the 10+ mech singles i bought.. saved me 160 mill..

As long as you weren't on the last skilltree postponement bandwagon some salt will be allowed. Carry on.

you had one thing to do pgi.
you ****** it up.
If this goes live -- I'm out. You can't eat up items that I have earned in game without giving me some form of relative compensation (I.E. Cbills, MC etc).
Guess I need to hold off on purchasing those hero mechs I was just about to purchase.
WAY TO COST YOURSELF MONEY PGI! WTF goes through your collective minds?

Some people here seam to be sitting on GXP like its nothing...some others like me don't. In fact I have a good number of mechs that still need to be skilled and I just bought modules for to improve their performance a bit to make skilling easier.
With all the "We want money" talk you might concider that there are also players who don't have the GXP.
As I said, best thing would be if they just add a popup "Do you want money or GSP?"

its not even that. its the fact we ALREADY have mechs with hundreds of thousands or in some cases millions of XP sitting on them.
We already have TONS of stored XP. We can buy the skill trees with that. Probably several times over.
And PGI wants to give us even more stored XP that well never be able to use.
PGI might as well give us nothing at all. At least then PGI would be straight shooting about screwing us over instead of trying to cover it up.

why would you ever not take the cbills? since weve all got tons of extra xp sitting on our mechs anyway.
im gonna sell all my modules for half cbills if PGI forces me to do that. but id rather PGI at least offer to give me 50% for the old modules and 100% for the new modules.

But I certainly dont need XP. My mechs have hundreds of thousands of XP on them. More XP is not useful to me at all. Give me half cbills, its better than no cbills. Thats a fair compromise.
Well the thing is you can use it to level up future mechs for free. that is at least worth something right? well at the bonus of 4m per mech you buy, so basically each mech you purchase in the future till those points run out will be at the cost of 4m less. .

Well, that was adjusted a year or so later (because, it took massive whining before PGI got the message). Of course, it was broken for a period too (Cap Accel literally doing nothing).

And nothing of value was lost!
ok let me explain this to you in a way even you can understand.
I have a founders atlas. it has like 2 million xp stored up on it.
it has I dunno, lets say 10 million in modules on it.
so PGI is going to steal my 10 million in modules and give me GXP instead. but I already have 2 million XP on my atlas.
So how does that GXP have any value whatsoever when I can already buy the skill tree with the 2 million stored XP on my atlas?
Quote
but I already have tons of excess GXP too. I dont need more GXP or SP or whatever GXP is being renamed to.
Extra SP is of no help to me. SP are not cbills. I cant spend them like cbills. what I want are cbills.
I am going to sell my modules if you dont give me cbills. one way or another ill get my cbills. but I would rather have more cbills and feel square than less cbills and feel cheated. my wallet feels the same way.

GOOD NEWS! You're not getting XP, you're getting SP, which cost both C-Bills *AND* XP!
Now you can choose which 'mechs get Seismic/ Radar Derp, or... whatever else you like! Just like you can now! It's almost like nothing was lost...
So, I have all the mechs mastered now, and when this goes live... I will be able to re master all those same mechs, and I wont need anything additional to do so. But, I have over a billion cbills worth of modules that are suddenly going to be converted to skill points, which I don't need, because, mastered already. Are we following along?
Currently have a billion cbills worth of modules equipped on mechs.
Will soon have thousands of Skill point vouchers I have no use for.
And you are telling me nothing is lost? SMH
