Maybe it will be a nightmare, where we all will play, all the time, in skirmish?

Good to see EVIL on IS Side. So the Tukk 3 will at least get us all some real good Matches. Posted Image

Yea, I totally would have switched factions for this, kinda painful it's only a few days notice. Maybe if they allow free switching like before??

I hope not because then most good Units will come back to Clans. And we all will have real bad waiting Times.

Will you please stop the end of days/sky is falling posting over this and trying to tie in the whole "RIP IS Mechs via skill tree...ect"

Read the post they are trying for a clean slate cause of how bad balance is atm. Aka "good" quirks = broken quirks. It makes not only the Clan v IS balance a **** show, but also IS to IS balance in a bad spot. No over quirking is not the answer. With new tech coming did you expect them to leave current quirks in game? Laser duration and range to mechs thay would have access to ER lasers thay would end up far out performing clan mechs not to mention leaving most IS as junk? Sorry but these rants need to go away let the skill tree drop, let the new tech drop. Let PGI sort the numbers out now with a clean slate.

The history of Battletech has always been Asemetric with the tech bases. Imo what they need to focus on is Clan = offensive and IS = Defensive. Big guns vs tanks ect. Few exceptions, and no one can claim both in having tanky and firepower....

Sorry to continue a derailment by responding to this but...

How does the shot gun approach to reducing some quirks (particularly in known low tier mechs) in any way shape or form suggest to you a "clean slate"? Some mechs are getting hit a lot, (some particularly bad mechs in fact are getting hit the worst), some mechs are getting hit a bit (losing 5% here or there), some mechs are not affected at all. In any testing scheme you care to mention, or in a system wherein one is attempting to establish "a base line of performance" are seemingly random such changes considered a good thing for either the testing enviornment or the establishment of a base of values?

If PGI wanted a clean slate then YES they should have left everything unchanged and done one thing at a time: skills tree, nerfs, decoupling, etc. By trying to do it all at once they are guaranteeing that they will get anything BUT a clean slate or a reliable baseline of data.

The redacted stuff is 10 hours ago and I see nothing about this on the 25th.....

They dont want to give people time to faction swap, they must like the currect balance lol.

The redacted stuff goes back a lot further than that:

The post on the 25th was in the Necessary Roughness event thread, and Matt edited the OP to include the info.

Jan/Feb/March roadmap said that FW events were coming in the future. Davion/Steiner civil war photos were a couple months ago. Start putting all of these puzzle pieces together and it was pretty clear a big FW event was coming. Again, I thought all of this was leading up to the promised IS v IS events, Davion/Steiner civil war photos, etc. Tuk 3 is a bit of a surprise. Sorry that the competitive folks are on the IS side and have to actually work for a win instead of getting a W while blind drunk. Let me cry some tears for you.

Sound like it's going to be a good weekend not to play. Got enough participation trophy cockpit items I never use.

EU also mate. Lots of Oceanic/Euro players overlap heavily as they are only 5-8hrs behind Oceanic (depending on time zone). So not a lot of difference.

I play with a LOT of EU players in Oceanic cycle on a Fri evening. As for a lot of EU it is Fri mid arvo/evening.

By starting the event a day early they would be helping TWO timezones of players. PGI really need to address that.

lol @ your post about EVIL on reddit - Good thing EVIL are IS loyalist Posted Image

Lies EVIL not steiner loyalists. Who says we went loyalist since they fixed the instant switch merc loophole and most of us are already max merc. Posted Image

Beside we like only 30 man big unit that has hard time filling a full or half premade compared to the bigger activity in tukyad we barely affect the tug of war.

Ah, you're new, then. I just hope I can get a win this time. My last time, I was new like you are now, because it was my very first one. At the time, I lacked enough experience, ability, and/or personally-built Mechs. Currently have an "I.S. Defeat" trophy, but would like to have a "Clan Win" trophy to make up for it. Let's try for the best, eh? :)

Also, let's hope that PGI does some of the type of Rewards that were in the "Tukayyid 2" Event, like Colors that went with the Factions. I would enjoy having another one or more of those. Perhaps some WarHorns would also be nice. Otherwise the results on this Event will be lacking compared to the previous edition, which wouldn't do "Tukayyid 3" any justice. I should go look back at the "Tukayyid 2" Event page... starting to wonder how hard it will be to access, though... :(

i just wanna take a moment to agree with everything you just said except for he tech-type focus. clan is defense, is is offense. clan is good at standing on a hill and ripping you apart as you close. and is is good at surviving the journey. go to 2 same tech matches and the is team that attacks and the clan team that defends will win their matches.

Well, I found it. Here's a link to the "Battle Of Tukayyid 2" Event from before...

-> https://mwomercs.com/tournaments?t=201512tuk

...and may you all enjoy having a look back at that Previous Edition before this Next Edition begins! PGI has left themselves with some giant shoes to fill, and a definite need for a longer Event run time as compared to the Previous Edition. ;)

Don't worry, we'll switch to clan ezmode even if it isn't free.

Mercstar will raise itself from the dead and drop its 15+ zombie KDK3 12mans into the bucket. And NKVA will return and create a better meme. Woe betide the milk drinkers.

After the pain of Tukayyid 1, "The Search for Enough Clanners to Drop Against," I was happy to be ClanSide for Twokayyid. As long as the population numbers are balanced, I honestly don't care who's going where.
