Those who look to the new IS tech to change this are going to be disappointed. The endo and FF advantage won't go away. Light engines are still 50% heavier than their XL counterparts. DHS will still be bulkier for the IS. Clan weapons will still be much better overall.
I've always called for the 12-10 solution. This isn't exactly how TT balanced (the whole bidding process, managed by whatever they call the Dungeon Master is really the key, and that's hard to automate), but it was part: the IS would drop in 3 lances of 4, while the Clans would drop in 2 stars of 5.
This is why I dont understand why PGI deletes a lot of Quirks. Quirk where part of the balancing system, so there is no reason to delete or weaken them as both sides get the same skill tree system. Even if Quirks 'force' pilots to drive a Mech with a specific load-out it was important for them.
And as a personal note what makes me really disappointed is the change in Hero Mechs. I bought the BNC LM because I wanted an Assault Mech with Large Pulse Lasers, a AC/10 and better mobility (compared to its tonnage). Now nearly every Quirk is striped away as the special reason why I bought that Mech. Sure you could say you better buy a Hero Mech because it is looking cool or something but I dont spend ~28 $ for one ingame item just because it looks cool. (okay I did something like that with the MadCat MK II but this is different ^^)

Seems we need to look at detailed stat. Like number of mateches premade vs premade, pug vs pug and etc.
If you compare IS vs. Clan it is pretty misleading if you just break it down to "coordinated team wins over uncoordinated team". Sure the IS could grab some wins over the Clans if they where well organized but if it comes to "organized team vs. organized team" the Clan side will win the battle, equal skills provided.

I.S. drop in 3 lances of 12 and the clans in 2 stars of 10, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
I see I.S. nature runs true to form still in this game, you get beaten and you call for a reduction in numbers, nerf the clan, please uncle Russ they gave me a boo boo, PATHETIC.
When it suits you out comes the Lore if it is to your advantage, again, PATHETIC.
You want it by the book then lets have it by the book, I.S. in 3 lances of 4 for a total of 12 and the clans in their Tri-Star, 3 stars of 5 totalling 15.
Bring it when you grow a pair.
I'm KHAN ATTAKHAN and I'm probably in trouble again
Well if you want it by the books the Clans would never drop with more Mechs as the IS would drop. It is part of a Claners code of conduct and his understanding of honour to show everyone what a great warrior he is. If Clans would stick to lore balancing they would never stay in their base and shot IS Mechs in the back or just keeping distance and use their superior range advantage.
A lot of Clan side pilots do carry the habitus of arrogance over IS/freebirth pilots but not because they stick to the lore. They just feel better because they know they've superior tech and they use it against IS, sometimes with ridiculous tactics.
Btw, yesterday I actually had a Clan pilot who talked in All chat like he sticks to the lore. I called him for a one on one and he answered my call. Hunchback vs. Hunchback IIC, was pretty fun. Thats what I wished for, when I started playing MWO again (after a long rest since BETA).
