Yep PVP was Last, Single player camping was the second level, Skirmish was the first level. They have said they will not do a map/mission editor apparently they did that for one of the shadowrun games and it became a much bigger headache than HBS has the staff to manage, so no editor, and as Mitch says over and over Focus=Quality.

Ahh, yes, Skirmish was first.. (i thought skirmish meant PvP) Like i said, i didn't really follow the kickstarter. Seeing pvp would not need AI at all, i figured it was the easy level 1 level. Smart AI takes a lot of coding :)

And yea, i listened to some chats they did and the reason he stated why they didn't add it at the time was because it would take one or two people a pretty long time. (some reason i recall him saying something about 6 months?)

That is why i said Kickstarter in the future.. If they got the money after the game is made, because people really want it, Why not get a couple guys making the tools right? Unless of course they think it would hurt the bottom line on a second campaign, but honestly i don't know any game that has tools, that the next didn't sell well. If anything tools make games sell for a lot longer ya know?

I'm actually looking at BT MP as much more like tabletop play, like going to the local shop and playing a quick pick up game. It'll be totally different than an FPS or RTS MP environment. Heck, you can even throw your own campaigns together with your long distance friends (even without mod tools) because of MP support.

It'll have all the fun RNG of TT to shake things up from time to time too, so any meta can be wiped out with a crap dice roll, and hilarity or rage can then ensue.

You can goto a local game shop and play BT in a pick up game? that's pretty cool.. I honestly don't know of a single game shop in my entire state! (i live in CT) the last local game shop was a warhammer place that closed years ago.

Sure tehre are a couple hobby shops around, but nothing that has anything like leagues or tables set up to play that i know of.

Used to be able to. When I lived in WI it was tad more prevalent. I guess it has been awhile... sheesh. But I think it'll have more of that vibe for PVP. Skirmishes based on BV and such with the outcome dictated by smarts and luck rather than motor skills and min/maxed loadouts. Sure there will be smack talk, but if you aren't dealing with a early quitter, letting things play out can lead to some epic moments... I mean when Mitch took the AC20 to the head live.... oh yeah, that's what TT BT is all about.

On the other note, I'm currently working on painting up my boxset and building a bunch of scatter/theme terrain so I can try to get some people to play on occasion up here in CO where I live now. You could always ask the shop (if they allow in shop games of any kind like 40k) if they might accommodate you and some players. Could be a way to get a thing rolling.

Cool man.. You know this game has got me way more into BT than i ever have been in. I never played TT, just the games. When i was a kid i played D&D. The good ol days with weekend sleepovers, and then LARPING in the swamp behind my friends house before LARPING was a thing. He had a machette, and some other knife, I would carry it and a trashcan life for a shield and he would wear leather moccasins and have the dagger and was the thief. Ahh 1980 such a fun year.. :P

But that makes me wonder. Perhaps we should make a thread here someplace for fokls looking for locals to play some BT. I've been considering buying some mechs to paint. I haven't painted in many years.. (all D&D figures, so robots might be fun for a change)

Do you know of any places that you can view all the BT figures? maybe a store that specializes in such a thing? (yes i have used google, but to many pages to look through lol)

Totally remember those days! Did some Larping back in the day near Madison. They could muster a pretty good sized group for weekend events. Despite what people say, it can be a blast.

Ironwind Metals has the online catologue. I think that's probably the most complete viewing you could get, though it can be a pain to navigate. I think Catalyst may be doing a new boxset to coincide with their updated rule set (the old one is now out of stock). Could pay attention for that, as if the past has been an indicator, it should be one of the better deals you can get for a TT type game. The last one certainly was. Around $65 got you 31 (i think) good quality 1 piece plastic mini's (two of which were the higher quality, multi piece TBR and BLM). A bunch of hex maps and all the rules you and a friend needed to get rolling in just a couple of minutes. Good stuff.

I'd love to see people's painted mini's. Helps get you through the droughts in painting motivation.

Well after playing some matches today, MP will be needed to test weapon effects firing a single weapon on target to see what happens. With the AI trying to kill you, it is not that easy.

Though the AI seemed to improve as I filled out surveys complaining about how it did not focus fire, suddenly it started doing so.
