You know PGI, it would be great, if the Early Adopter duration would be extended for 2 months, like you did with the Civil War pack... ;)

Look, I'm buying the Osiris because it's an IS light, but we really need to give some love to the classics - just looking at the other 30 ton IS choices, this one is given more to work with than the other 3 (including the 1 month old Javelin). And what does the OSR-4D do that the JVN-11F doesn't??? We're getting a little redundant...
Edit: I am sooooo not looking forward to Arctic Wolf streak-boats... my poor, poor XL195 Commandos are toast.

Anyhoo - chicken-walker iz best walker!

Would be great as we are going to be waiting quite a while anyway
with the change to perceived value of mech-packs caused by the end of the rule of three, reduction in premium time and obsolescence of IS battlemechs perhaps it is time to review Early adopter duration.

Also the Osiris and Nightwhatever look quite a lot like like clan mechs.
If I spotted one at range under ECM or running stealth armour I would shoot it

Ok I'm tempted by the Nova cat. One of my old favorites from MW4. not of course that that will carry over to this game but tempting. And the Uziel is very tempting too.

If the exchange rate wasn't so **** at the moment I might just give them some money. Although my brain screams no!

I see a few people say it, but personally, I don't see why 'Mechs that get introduced need to somehow fill a specific role. More-better, I say. Give people some choices. Add some variety.

Man, that Starry Night paint job really has me considering getting the Nightstar collector's edition. I hesitate to pay an extra $20 just for a paint job, but when you think about it Starry Night is worth about $100 million, so it's really the deal of the century (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it).

well, in fairness, the Annihilator's whole claim-to-fame bit for around Civil War was that the Wolf's Dragoons actually started selling the design to people outside their unit, that, and they seem to be tossing in Jade Falcon Incursion mechs as well, which the Dragoons factored heavily in.

You mean the Jade Falcon Incursion of '58 - that was years before the FCCW. The Dragoons were not involved in the Incursion of '64, i.e. during the FCCW.

I do not hate the Annihilator and I fully acknowledge that it is an important Mech. I just feel choosing it is a terrible start for the FCCW-era. The Annihilator is no possible way representative of this conflict or even era. This is actually reflected by the many, many RATs we got (ER:62, FM:U, FM:LA, FM:FS etc.). The Annihilator hardly seen on those lists.

The Uziel actually saw a decent amount of use in the Civil War, just not as much as mechs like, say, the Osiris we're getting now, the Argus or IS Omnis like the Templar and Sunder

Depends on what you consider a decent amount, doesn't it? Speaking of RATs, the Uziel is not seen at all on those lists. This means the Mech is not typically found in the armies of the time - which is quite telling since the main target customer was also the main combatant of the FCCW. It furthermore not featured in the (again extensive!) narration of the war. Its TRO entry is literally the only mentioning of it during the war.

Yes, it was there and it became more popular after the FCCW, but again I feel this is a horrible choice for representing this conflict.

This is like a WWII game set in Normandy 1944, ignoring the Tiger or Panther tanks and including the Somua S-35 instead to represent the German tanks. Yes, the Somua was there and it was used by the Wehrmacht, but it is hardly representative for German tanks in Normandy...

The Nightstar, while perhaps less popular than a Fafnir for example, does a much better job at representing the Civil War, as it was used on a larger scale by both sides of the war, and as it was piloted by a key figure of the war (and thus had a place in the spotlight of the spine novels).

Good selection, interesting twist about the Arctic Wolf though, both omni and battletech? Huh..
Still a bit disappointed.
No Flea, no Fire Moth, no IS omnimechs, no Fafnir, no Mad Dog/ Vulture Mk II omnimech with chin turrets... At least for the two lights I mentioned I did hope engine desync and the skill tree could help them get introduced, side stepping the Cryengine speed limit issue...PGI... WHY?

Nightstar + MadCat mkII here I come !

I am more heavy/med fan, but nowadays with the "go big or go home" power creep, i might actually play my assaults.
And these two are long time fav (tho I will play my MadCat mk2 as a Blood Asp substitude) :)

Osiris: Never liked that mech in MW4. Hopefully there is some redesign from this concept drawing. Also, it would be nice if it wasn't HUGE like the Jenner became after the resize.

Artic Wolf: Because the clans need another 8 SRM-6 missile boat. I really like that it has both standard and Omni variants. But I am so going to enjoy the frustration of fighting the SRM poptarts.

NovaCat: A 70 ton clan Omni that doesn't suck. Yeah I'll probably take that. Hopefully it doesn't feel as sluggish as the Night Gyr.

NightStar: One of the "Marauder" series mechs. This is a must have for me. Waiting on the Dragon Fire and Maelstrom next. "Collect the whole set". Yes please. I like the weapon hardpoints and design. I'll wait for the ECM variant until it drops for C-bills.

This is getting to be pricey. Hey PGI, slow down, I can only donate so much blood per month.

And when can we expect some maps to go with all these new mechs? If there is one thing we need, it's more diversity of real estate, not more mechs.

What good are new maps when the same 3-4 get voted on again and again and again and again................................... and again?

One another note. Nova Cat I'm pretty happy about, and the Nightstar was on my list but there are a few others I would have preferred. The other two meh.

What's with the Fafnir fetish? Ultra slow mech with dual heavy gauss? Sounds to me like a turret with a slow cooldown. In other words, it's bait for lights. Like the Nightstar and the Osiris. Likely to get those.

You mad, guys? Saying that PGI is greedy selling you 3 mechs for 20$ when there is Wargaming which will sale you 1 tank for 100$? Siriously? And you won't get any good tanks, gold and etc from them during events. Western players are just to spoiled by good attitude. Posted Image

Skill maze is still here.... and it's still not simple.... balance is broken.... players gone.... but - do you wana buy a mech pack Posted Image
Why a mech pack? We don't need 3 mech to master them.
Your economy and marketing sucks like hell.

Bet you they sell loads. ;)

Drama queening there. I'm almost entirely using IS now... some of them are stunningly good now.

funny thing is all the Fafnir fanboys don't realize you could essentially make one out of one of the reinforcement Nightstars, given the Torso Ballistics. you'd just be short one energy hardpoint, but be able to run dual AMS on it, not that people who drive Fafnir ever really USE those energy hardpoints, given how quickly heavy gauss slaughter hostiles in MW4, at least.

This makes very little sense. Ok the mechs are fine and all but before I had to buy three mechs to level them no I have to buy three mechs anyway.

I would understand if the there was a rule of three but I am not interested in 3 of any of these mechs. now indeed If I had a the choice I would happily pay throw down money for some of them but I don't think it make sense to do that this time especially since the early adopter rewards are now less useful. decals and colours when I have a decent range of colours already and the whole decal thing does not appeal to me

Now if you could buy individual mechs then I would buy some of them but for example if I bought a basic pack I would be immediately sell the other two since I would not want to grind them
