assuming this is refering to the Inner Sphere Omnimechs, by the time this pack is released we will be in 3062, the Fedcom Civil war era, there were at least a dozen IS Omnimech designs available by then, including Sunder, Owens, Hauptman, Meh Shen, Raptor, Templar and Omnimech versions of the Blackjack and Firestarter.

and timeline wise we are already in 3053

If your your sales strategy doesn't change then I am quite certain my wallet will remain closed. Also add a Shopping Cart system someway somehow, because I really found it annoying having to deal with your piecemeal ordering triggering credit card fraud protection on all my past orders!

At this point these sales have me scratching my head at the IS/Clan focus since side from the Falcons making some noise the Clans had nothing to do with the Civil War.

Um, Clan Wolf in Exile was heavily involved in the civil war.
And while the FCCW-era is naturally dominated by the FCCW, it is not like the Clans had been idle in this time. They had lots of action too, some against each other, some against IS forces.

The first variant will likely be used for either big ballistic joke builds, or a variable role scout. Can't say I *love* that choice, but...Whatever.
The second is deadsiding incarnate. I would never call it bad, but it's certainly different.
Third I'll like. Seperated missile and energy mounts makes for some interesting laser+SRM skirmishing, or... The alternative.
For the reinforcements, one's energy and ballistics, which is nice, or you have the option of... Oh my. Quad ballistics, double missile, double energy? The 1P's damn nice if you want a lot of guns, a lot of dakka, and a lot of foosh. (2X SRM-6+A, 2X ERML or ML, and quad HMG or MG? No matter what, that'll be a really spicy prank from this chassis.)
The Hero's kind of a waste of time, all things considered. Everything it can do, the reinforcements can do better, aside from splitting four lasers in more than just the arms. If we could press for it to also have two more ballistic slots, that could open up some better build potential; maybe even make it a mini MG-based Annihilator.

Pretty much this. What's with the Air Conditioner junk on the top of it? Nightstar was pretty flat and streamlined like the King Crab up top. I was happy that the Nightstar came out, then the more I looked at it, the more that fat junk on top makes me not want to buy it.
They also need to fire their marketing team. The "Ultimate" option isn't even a deal. There are no savings other than being a one stop shopping item. Its just idiotic to sell an "Ultimate" pack and not offer a discount. Consumers know that if they buy in large quantities there is some discount for paying for more. These guys still haven't grasped that concept after how many years?
Ie. 1 key = 25, 3 keys = 75? Come on PGI. Do you buy beer individually to equal a 24 pack? Do you go to Tim's to buy each individual Timbits up to a box full of 20?

There should be a single mech selection for say $X, and if you buy ANY three, it will cost $15/$20, and then if so desired, attach a condition to procuring the hero.
At the moment, it would seem that people are tending either to $0 or $20. I think we an $X variant, there would be more people tending toward $10 then $0. Would it be better to secure $10 or make a potential buyer toss between $0 and $20?
I would probably drop $10 on a single variant that I Really want, but not #20 to get that same variant and two others I dont need.
As it is, I pre-ordered five Night Gyr and really only ever play two. so there u have it.

Why do people want IS Omnis? They still us IS tech, so even though you will be able to swap hardpoints, you won't have built in CASE and you won't have Clan weapons / HS / Armor. Basically, you will just have an IS Mech that is less configurable than a regular IS BattleMech.

I actually like the way the MWO Nightstar looks, the original looks like a skinny Stalker and the Stalker looks like a walking blimp.

In the Civil War timeline, Clan Wolf and Clan Jade Falcon fought each other and Wolf raided Ghost Bear, so PGI could easily make it Wolf vs JF with the other Clans choosing sides and Steiner vs Davion with other IS factions choosing sides. The best part of this is that no one can cry about Clans stomping IS or vice versa.

And when most of us (probably) won't, they'll then offer options to buy fewer Mechs at a lower cost and without the early adopter rewards.
At least, that's how I'd do it.

Yeah, they should just sell each variant Individually for like $10 each, or $15 for the hero, maybe $12 for the special and any pre-order gets the pre-order bonuses.

Actually, you have the mindset of a freeloader. If you want to play for free, then just play and save your C-BILLS until the Mechs are out for C-Bills. Also, people have been saying R.I.P. MWO since beta and it is almost 6 years later.
