I want the lower cost mech bundles because some day those mechs may be meta. Better to get them on the cheap.

Play nice...
PGI should, if they want more people to spend money.
How will an a la carte option affect the Pokemech collectors who spend on anything and everything anyway? Please enlighten us.

How will being an ******* to everyone who doesn't agree with you, make more people agree with you? Please enlighten us.
I support an a la carte option, but of course no-one asked if I did or not, they'd rather jump down my throat for not immediately posting my supporting for their idea. Grow up, people...

Well, an a la carte option will give PGI more direct income earlier. How much will PGI earn on a c-bill purchase? Please do tell.

Again I dont care if they add a la carte, Just dont stop selling the current packs.
Also I am not sure why you think the people not willing to pay 20 for 3 are going to buy one for 10 or more in great numbers.

That people will be buying in great numbers? That's arguable.
That the income from an a la carte option will be pure profit? That's not even debatable.

I'll agree with the premium time for basics being a good nudge in buying the basic packs. I bought the Rifleman and Warhammer basic packs a month apart to spread out the premium time. Now that it's gone, I'm more hesitant to make additional purchases. Only reason I'm getting the Uziel is because my brother gifted me the money for it.
However the various variants that are desirable being scattered across the packs makes perfect business sense to me.
I think if they were going to do an a la carte version, it would likely be more expensive, but hopefully get a little cheaper as you add mechs. Actually that makes a lot more sense. If they did an a la carte system where you create your own mech pack, picking and choosing, but ultimately paying a little more for the convenience. It might be more profitable for them. But they're not going to let you cherry pick the best for the same price. That's just bad business model.
Of course it will be more expensive but cheaper too. Let me explain.
You sell the standard mech for $10 each and the hero for $15 due to the C-bill boost. So with Ala Carte at most you can get 2 mechs for the same $20 investment however you are able to get the two mechs you want rather than having to buy several you don't.
Let's go further into Ala Carte and how it is a benefit for both sides.
The Nightstar to me looks really solid so I will probably want multiple variants. I decide that I like the 9FC and the 9P but currently that 9P is behind the paywall big time and the only way to get it is to also buy all the other variants so I have to pay out $35 and end up with 3 mechs I don't want. I decide that isn't a good deal and don't buy.
With Ala Carte however I will buy the two chassis I want and spend $20. We both win.
Now taking it further. I buy the two Nightstars I want then page over to look at the other mechs. That Osiris 2V looks tasty and is the only variant I want but nope, requires basic and reinforcement, another $35 investment. No way in hell, but if it was Ala Carte....$10 spent. Then I head over the Arctic Wolf. The A variant looks perfect and I can grab only it for $10. I go to the Nova Cat. Most of them look kinda meh but I come up with a build that I think would be awesome using the A and Hero Mech so $25 done.
So instead of passing on buying all together, I have now spent $65 and got the mechs I was really interested in. Further now that I have at least one of each mech and have got a taste for them at the initial release, that I will go back and Ala Carte at least a few more chassis for various reason like trying a new build or to get access to some Omnipods that now after playing the mech, will give it the ultimate build. So I find myself maybe spending anther $30 so not have $95 invested. Suddenly I realize I have spent a hell of alot more money than I anticipated.
Also think about about many people would buy the Hero Mech alone if it was sold separately.
Now I am not saying don't sell things as a bundle as well because there will always be someone who wants the bundle and it would be cheaper than Ala Carte but by giving people more options they give them more ways to give PGI money. I mean I get it, I am a sales and marketing professional myself, so I understand the bundle structure they have now will generate extra money from people buying a standard pack to get access to the hero or adding a reinforcement pack to get the one ECM variant in the bundle but how much money are the leaving on the table from people who see the cost go get the hero or the one mech variant they really want as too high so don't spend at all.

If PGI did a crappy job on their store web site in the areas of modularity, adaptability, and extensibility, that's on them. <shrugs>

It won't change until the whale's spending habits change.
