But that said.

The X2 ERPPC with X2 LRM15s variant is terrifying in table top. I imagine is would be nasty here as well.

But in all seriousness, if you are referring to the Rick Harris artwork I would imagine it to be some kind of area to get into the cockpit of the mech. One of the things that I really didn't understand about the Rifleman IIC, is how the hell do you get into the damn thing? Maybe it's like a hatch door for an entryway, or maybe the roof for an escape pod. This scene comes to mind for me:

If PGI sticks to the (stock engine 195*1.2 = 235 engine cap) rule for heavy mechs, nothing can save most of the variants.

The IIC2-8 that has ECM and a stock XL325 will be interesting though.

I dont see a 300 engine going anywhere near this if it came in game.

The Clams need more lights and mediums that aren't poop compared to everything else.

They're good on heavies and assaults at the moment.

Urbanmech 2C,Locust 2C. Commando 2C Shadowhawk 2C Griffin 2C are 2C mechs I'd rather see before the rifleman(seeing as the Rifleman is just a lighter Jager)

They gave the Annihilator a higher engine cap than what it is supposed to have, so they might end up doing it for the Rifleman IIC. With the Rifleman IIC leading in the clan heavy department it's just a matter of when instead of if.

With all of the 2C mechs that you have listed keep in mind that Lights and Mediums don't sell as well as Heavies and Assaults do. That is not to say that most of the IICs that you listed aren't bad mechs, but your statement about the IS Rifleman doesn't apply to the Rifleman IIC at all. The problem is the clans at the moment really have no equivalents to the Jagermech in the same weight category. Sure we have a bunch of 65 ton clan omnimechs in the game, but none of them that have the same higher weapon mounts in comparison.

So comparing the IS Rifleman to the Rifleman IIC doesn't make sense in your comparison, since the Rifleman IIC is a clan 65 ton Battlemech completely redesigned to be the much tankier cousin. And besides, PGI is ending 2017 with a guaranteed clan light and a clan medium so you already have your wish for each category.

Oh trust me, I haven't given up. It's the number one heavy mech in Gas's poll now. 576 votes and still counting should be a good indicator for PGI that many people other than myself want the mech in game by now. The real question is if they are going to follow my suggestions about Rick Harris's artwork for MW:O, or if they are going to go with a reseen inspirational approach to the design. I'm crossing my fingers with the Rick Harris artwork inspiration since that looks like a mean clan battlemech.

I know the message has gotten through to them. Just a matter of when instead of if by this point.

Well, keep in mind that this mech in particular has nothing to do with Harmony Gold. It was FASA who was responsible for throwing it in the unseen category since it had the label "Rifleman IIC" when it was originally created for battletech. Since it was from Japan, FASA panicked after the Harmony Gold lawsuits and threw it into the unseen category. You can't find any original Macross mechs that even remotely look like the Rifleman IIC. I hope PGI is well aware of this fact, and like I said before it would be great ammo for them if they did decide to add the mech in MW:O before the court hearing.

I could only picture the court case going something like this:

Harmony Gold Lawyer: "According to our sources you have used influences and stolen the Destroid Defender that we (really do not) clearly own as inspiration for your MW:O mech called the Rifleman IIC."

PGI Lawyer: "Where exactly is your proof with this claim?"

Harmony Gold Lawyer: *Presents the Judge with side by side images of the Destroid Defender and the Rifleman IIC*

Copyright Judge: "This is stupid....CASE DISMISSED!"

Of course this isn't how it would play out in the courtroom, but it's going to look ridiculous for Harmony Gold regardless. I'm no lawyer nor a person that practices law, but in the eyes of any sensible rational human being with even a figment of common sense, this whole court case looks very unprofessional. Tell anyone outside the Battletech/Robotech/Macross franchise about this case. They will be in complete denial that any company who hasn't produced new content from their own franchise, is desperately trying to use the court system to parasitically drain other companies for a franchise (Robotech) that has been sitting in dust for several decades.

I feel bad for whoever is left in the Macross fanbase in North America, since they are the ones who really got shafted.

That is one of the weirdest renditions of the Rifleman IIC imo from the MW2 manual. It reminds me of some kind of prototype that the clans had in development before we got the final traditional look of the mech. Dare I even bring this up:
