Just wanted to thank PGI for the Rush Hour Challenge today. It's been a hoot playing games with half the mechs being lights. Pure madness, and total change of gameplay. Would love more events that stir things up so much!

It has been truely strange. I was running with some people in my unit last night and I recall cursing each time I did "too much" damage and got a killing blow instead of an assist. No one wanted the kills. Challenges bring out the oddest behaviour.

I saw a streak dog charge the lance of lights I was in - licking his chops and drooling, I bet. We ripped him to shreds faster than any school of piranhas ever could. He fired two volleys.

Dude, yes! I've been amazed at how efficiently these small disorganised packs of lights can tear up enemies. I've had more laugh-out-loud moments playing just today than I have in a long time.

We were 4 urbies, too, with probably 12+ machine guns between us. As soon as the armor was gone, structure evaporated.

So much fun! Reminds me of days of yore when a couple of Jenners and LagRavens in a wolf pack were completely and utterly terrifying.

I doubled up my rear armor, that's what I did.

I love light fast mechs...unless I'm faced with a hunting pack of them. Watching 5 lights race around an assault while it flails away trying to decide who to shoot at brings back memories.

Yah, I also loved the medium mech challenge as well, almost like real BT with mediums and lights making up the majority of mechs. It's been cool seeing the heavy and assault queue's so low for once!

I actually took out some of my Assaults because I knew the queue times for them would be low. Bad decision, I am not an Assault pilot and learning to be one while surrounded by fast, small lights is problematic.

I got 33 of the assists in three games, 11 per game... tbh not that unsual for me in lights... except, I don't normally try to avoid getting the kill, soz to the mechs that i disarmed instead killing. (I Don't have much game time available for this event).

And no matter how many times it is said, people are still not aiming for the legs, nor are the big guys putting their back against something...!!!

I'm loving this event. Not just Rush Hour, but all of it. Every night that I am able to log on, I ask the guys "what's to event task tonight?" They tell/remind me, and away we go. Thus, every night we are doing something a bit different, having a bit of fun with builds; and generally doing and running things we might not normally do and run. Its been great.

With the overlap of the accuracy challenge and rush hour we had probably the most diverse assortment of mechs in our group that I have ever seen. From Shotgun King Crabs, to 3ERLL Ravens. Just a lot of fun.

Yup the games today have been an absolute blast. Not much hiding and poking like usual, but just fast chaos from the very early minutes of the match. Too bad this part of the event wont last long.

I'm choosing to wait for the light queue to quiet down a bit. Then it's ninja assassin time. <maniacal Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image>

In the meantime, I'm bringing out my light hunters. Posted Image

I've had a few good matches. I'll upload my favorite, though. I was less than happy that the enemy wasn't well practiced with lights, but the ending will surprise you.

While i kinda agree here, it's been neat having different tasks.. I will say the PPC night was totally miserable for me. I was in the mood to try out a MPL+SPL brawler build and wanted to play around with the skill tree with it.. I didn't even make it an hour because of never even getting close enough to fire at a mech i just logged out and played "Memoria" (daedalic adventure

I did have fun on Bzzzzt night with my 3X ERLL crab :) had a few 600-700 damage matches.

But most of the tasks have been really easy so there is that. Was nice to get a bunch of new warhorns for some of my more played mechs. :)

Over all the event has been pretty cool

I haven't been keeping track of the event at all. I was pleasantly surprised by the loot splash popping up a few matches into the night, but I honestly had no idea what was going on or why there were so many lights running around. It was nice to see the queue numbers flipped for a change. There were also a very pleasing number of Urbies out and about, most of them K9s- you'd be forgiven for mistakenly thinking you'd dropped into an episode of Law and Order: MWO.

Did my challange 100% in an Urbie. That thing can tank some damage. Know I took one full alpha from a streak boat, blew off my dead arm, but barely turned torsos orange. Also was able to put out some good damage when it wasn't a roll.

Still to many rolls in solo queue. I was even considering getting the new hero, until the 3-12 roll on Caustic with only 1 kill assist. Cored 3 lights on their side, with 2-3 friendlies nearby. There were able to run away before my weapons recycled, with my teammates all firing and missing them.

Yeah, that was a good one. I ended up playing much more aggressively - and getting killed more often Posted Image , gunning for those last few kills.

Now all I have to do is un-learn my newly aquired bad habit of charging assault mechs in my Blackjack...Posted Image .

Unfortunately I'll be away for most of the Oh Canada challenge but I'm still ahead several million c-bills, war horns and cockpit items. Thanks for the waffles PGI Posted Image .

Good hunting,

I really hated it and had to stop playing for awhile because of it. A bunch of newbs trying to pilot light mechs all ramming into each other for half the match. It was just stupid.
