Overpowered Urbanmech

I think either the urbie is over-armored or light PPC under powered. It is ridiculous for a light mech to take this kind of damage.

In 12v12 setting though it's not nearly as bad.

Side note: Torso armor quirks should be split between front and rear, since it's always front only we just inflate the front to astronomical proportions.

It does have a bit more armor than one would think it should but they aren't competitive level, and probly never will be so is there a reason that you want to never see them on the field , as with balancing it always goes from a bit too good and used to not quite good enough and never used...

Now I've seen it all.

Almost nobody use them as slow big gun platform but as tiny energy + mg brawler with decent speed.
It is glorious ambusher and very easy to be overlooked when entire group is brawling.
With new HMGs + LF engines I see rather not small balance problem here.

I don't propose we take away everything it has going for it but at least tone down the armor to Kit Fox levels. Same tonnage, same top speed same overall size.

A kit fox is a pick-your-hardpoints omnimech which can mount 3 AMS +4t ammo, ECM, a large laser and 4 machine guns. Let's not try to compare two mechs that are completely different outside of relative size and tonnage.

..and for that reason alone the Urbie deserves heavy battlemech levels or armor ? It is a light mech doing what light mechs of its relative speed, agility, and firepower do: Light escort, like the KIT FOX and the Adder and is MORE than capable of doing what people use it for without such an anomaly. What's next? Should it be able to run shoulder to shoulder with Firestarters and Arctic Cheetahs too ?
The thing in game right now might look like an Urbanmech but it tanks like no 30 ton light should be able to.

I know, know because urbanmechs have totally upended the balance of power in the Inner Sphere. Remember when Jenner IIC's were the bee's knees? Now taking one out of the garage is tantamount to a death sentence with so many trashcans of death stalking the field.

Perhaps you didn't read my statement carefully. 50 Dmg is not from clean urbie to dead urbie - it's from orange to red.
I saw, orange isn't that damage in this game. You turn yellow with 1dmg.
50 orange to red sound right I'm almost positive you didn't hit the ct directly every time. Even if you did that would still be about orange to red.

...Imagine what a Kit Fox could do with that much armor...
...The thing has plenty of armor, hardpoints, jumpjets...
Examine the hit box breakdown and you'll notice it is vulnerable in three major areas
-Arms
-St
-Legs
The majority of an UM weaponry are stationed in large, easy to remove arms.
Cripple it there.
The majority of UM run XL engines because of the major speed restrictions in place vs. weight using STD. This is only exacerbated by the fact that to gain any major headway in firepower and speed you have to shave tonnage in armor.
The small profile of the UM carries one additional major weakness.
The pelvis/leg design
Armor is low in the legs, cripple it and watch the pilot flail at 30kph. Treat it like a fat light/skinny heavy.
Lights are without a doubt the least used class in the game, locust pilots an UM are a small percentile of the total player base. Please do not attempt to crush the light bracket any further.

So the armor isnt too far out of line.
