If I had to guess, I would say that they ran out of time. It looks like they gave the legs a basic walk animation because they didn't have time to do the whole thing. The upper half of the 'mech doesn't stride at all.

They will likely be revisiting this in the near future.

Sounds to me like they wanted to cash in now using what they had rather than spend an extra 2 months actually making it worthwhile. Although I doubt 2 months would have cut it.

looks like it has a stick up its butt and is tip toeing around.

Easily one of the sloppiest animations in the game. I really hope they just didn't have the time to finish it or something. Posted Image
Even the little walk cycle that the cockpit item uses is better.

As an amateur animator, it's just painful to watch the thing move. I have half a mind to make my own MkII model just so that I can give the walk and run cycles a go.

It's so ugly I think I'm rectracting my earlier statement about buying this 'Mech.

It's a bummer but thanks for the preview stream (NGNG) so we could know (that's what this kind of preview is good for).

If you don't want your MCII, can i have it instead?

Already blew my budget for the K9 and the Kaiju. :P

I'm waiting for the loyalty program before buying anything anymore.

The problem is that it needs to take longer strides because it looks kind of like it is tip toeing along. If the actually had length to its stride, kind of like it was leaping forward, it would look just fine.

I think the leg motion will look just fine from inside my Angry Kitty's cockpit. :)

I need a title of angry kitty, or at least a decal.

Does it have a gimp?

As it get to the top of the high ground there on theta the camera acts as thought the mech has a limp.

Super terrible looking

Yeah I thought the same, it looks like it sprained an ankle.
I'm rather shocked at how strange that animation came out.

I mean i'm not pulling back any purchases, I'm fine running around lookin like a dork...but i mean, damn...she's definitely an odd duck as far as movement goes.

Wow for the first im genuinanely feeling end of mwo is soon after seeing that...

They clearly only have a couple of guys keeping the lights on mwo and the majority of the team is working on mw5.

Who knows if they will be back?

That's what I will be doing.

Sorry PGI but the animation and hardpoints on this mech are just rushed, lazy or amateurish. Its a shame because there is a attractive mech somewhere in there. At the price tags you put on single asset transactions it should be polished to within an inch of its life.

Yeah people will get over it because they like the game, but its just a never-ending cycle of QA issues that have become this kind of expectation now, but should not exist in a game this old. Don't fall into the trap of using sycophants as a validation of workmanship either, you need an unfriendly internal critical review process before you release products.

I believe walk animation is used as a balancing tool for some mech.
Having a stiff animation make picking out component easier compare to one that jiggle alot, like the Awesome.

It was always a dumb robit in MW 4 to begin with. I always laughed at how idiotic the jumping MK II pilots looked as I blasted them with my Sunder. Such a poseur beast.

Pretty much like there is no weight to the mech. The upper body might as well be floating forward while the legs pretend to be holding it up.

Whats odd is the Cockpit standing item looks to have a good animation why didn't they just use that lol.
Its looks like its floating or tip toeing, like its torso has no weight.

Good observation.

BTW I rewatched the running animation and it made me laugh and cry at the same time....

Wow thats really odd, the small cockpit item has a walk that looks good and looks like there is weight to it. Howcome the mech in game looks as if there is no weight to it? Perhaps they missed a few variables or forgot to turn settings on or something?Very odd.
