Is 6x UAC/2 the new thing for the Mauler, or is the 3x AC/5 + 2x UAC/5 still the go-to?

Depends on the map/strat probably. I haven't tried the 6 UAC2 Mauler but I've heard from a few sources (some more reputable than others) that it is pretty beastly.

I guess that begs the question, though, why the Mauler and not the DWF? Mount points? Speed? Quirks?

The 6xUAC2 build is unusable because you can't see crap while shooting due to the muzzle flash (nice job, PGI). The damage is great, but I went back to 4xUAC5 with LFE325. The build is great on the KGC, though, the wide arms are a plus for once.

1HPPC + 2ML + 2SRM4 Griffin

Unsure if a Griffin build like this had been posted. Originally just tried to "upgrade" the Griffin to have a much more powerful PPC punch, though I ended up dropping the LRMs for SRM4s and adding the MLs to assist the SRM4s in keeping you safe at close ranges. Seems alright to me, the MLs can be swapped out for ER if you wanted a bit more range on them, just have to be careful about losing the right torso, as all your weapons are on the right side. The whole left side can be used to shield, though. Doing a similar build on the GRF-1S means you can drop a ton of SRM ammo or two jumpjets for an extra ML, and taking the GRF-2N means you can drop a ML and half a ton of armor for ECM, though it's on the shield side.

Edit: 1HPPC + 3ERML Cicada

A Cicada build using a HPPC. Built on the CDA-3M to have ECM to be a bit sneakier and harder to detect. ERMLs are to allow it to poke backs from further away. Inspired by some crazy person I saw running an HPPC on a Cicada and it seemed like fun to me. I imagine it'd be pretty darn good at stripping out backs, but it's pretty hot. The ERMLs can be swapped for the cooler MLs, two MLs can be dropped for a pair of ERSLs and an extra heat sink.

Mounts.. and speed is nice too. It gets a little hot though.

HPPC + 2x UAC5 MAD-3R

It's pretty nice, imho. Good DPS thanks to the UACs, even though the singular alpha isn't that devastating. I initially ran more DHS but it never even got remotely warm, let alone hot, so I swapped them out (which allows LFF, too). I guess you could drop ammo for another Medium Laser, but that's not gonna matter much. Maybe shave half a ton of armour on top of that to squeeze a LAMS in, dunno.

Surprisingly, running the HPPC results in better sustained damage than using a PPC and a LPPC.

I use two heavy ppc and two UAC5s on my atlas ddc with a light 330. It works well. The Uacs are heat neutral so once you get too hot you can just spam those or go cool off

Been meaning to try this: AWS-8Q - Targeting Computer.

It's inspired by some of the earlier AWS builds in the thread. It uses a MK.VI TC and a BAP for a massive boost to target info gathering and precision/crit. 3 ML's for combat at sub 90/scraping lights.

Quirkhunting, the Hunchback-4H comes to mind. 20% better cooldown? 15% less heat? That classic HbackHump?

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...2e5c7e892fc3271

Pack that HPPC, back it up with a snubbie, and zip around (for a Hunchie) making cool sound effects and hot smoking holes in the other guy. Alternatively, for a slower version, there's always an XL 255 version:

This one manages to pack twin HPPCs in with a token small laser for good measure, sacrificing a modest amount of arm armor to do so. Either way, you can keep up a respectable tossing of thunderbolts.

My build now for the 8Q is HPPC in each side torso and a snub nose PPC in the arm. I'm packed full of doubles and have a BAP to help counter ECM lights.
When you git gud with the arm mounted snub nose PPC, lights get wrecked very fast.

I had fun with this Uziel 3P build: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...424295b3e1ef4af
You could shave a little armor for a 4th JJ.

I am loving the HPPC (and MRMs). But I don’t like running HPPCs in pairs. I always have heat issues. I sometimes lack fire discipline Posted Image

AC10 (or UAC10) + HPPC is kinda my new go to.

Good 8Q build. Run it with full armour and structure quirks, cooldown and heatgen is also a must along with the 9 points for 60% radar derp.

Am I really the only one who does this?

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...f27354848b7575f

I run it asymmetrical, with 2xHPPCs and an LB-10X for when they get within minimum range/when I'm overheating. The AC/20 fits in easy as well, and is probably the better choice for a good player (Even if the heat is worse), but my aim is terrible, so the LB-10Xs velocity helps me hit things, and the extra heatsinks keep me from popping immediately.

I've been doing pretty well in it, and I thought it was a good build, but I haven't seen it here or in game so maybe I was mistaken...

I would like to use the HBK-4H as a heavy ppc platform because it has quirks that are best suited for those weapon types. However, it's not as good as the 4P because in the 4H variant the heavy ppc's are mounted on the hip and not in the shoulder mount (right side.) This makes the HPPC's low slung and not very good for peeking. It'd be nice if PGI moved those energy slots into the right shoulder instead of the right hip.

As I posted previously...I want to run HPPC's in the HBK-4H but if you fit the mech and then look at the weapon placement the HPPCs are mounted on the right hip and not the right shoulder so it's very dissuading.

Not on a Marauder, but I have done it on a Warhammer using both 2xAC/5 and the AC/10. Don't really like it with the 10, not enough range.
