Tell you what just happens fellow mechwarriors. Just did a game of domination. Stomped on, badly. I was one of few mechs on my team that actually pushed up to hold the button, versus the entire enemy team that rolled in. Timer ran down as my team didn't push. GG all the same; gj red for taking advantage.

I love it when people "GG" the other team after stomping them 12-0, 12-1, etc.

It's two letters whose definition comes from context, and when you've made the enemy team bend over and take it, the only "GG" you are telling your opponent is "Git Gud".

We know we sucked, thank you. Please stop giving us you GG's as if they're some kind of salve for the abuse heaped on our robot's rear torso from the tooling, yours or theirs. Please, be honest and say "Wow, you didn't stand a chance."

Those stompings, I don't need that GG gold star. Maybe a "sorry for the stomp" would be nice, or even some honest derision.

I'd only be an advocate of not saying it on the basis it kind of makes you look like a douche, if you care. But that's about it, If you get stomped, and someone says GG and that's enough to make you be upset, rather than "Holy flip, my team and I got beat so bad our mothers felt it." Your skin might be a bit thin.

yes but once something gains multiple meanings in the mainstream, without context anything on the internet loses meaning.. And since GG is completely devoid of context and has multiple meanings there really is no right way to take it other than lazy and lame being that its face value is 2 quick letters and leave..

This is for the most part a game with a relatively high average age and sometimes it wouldn't hurt to conduct ourselves accordingly.

I have no ownership over you not having enjoyed a match and you have no ownership over when I say gg.

The same obviously goes for similar expressions of courtesy. Don't be an ***.
