I'm going to have to disagree with pretty much everything you said there. You go from stating that a Clan mech vs an IS mech, the Clanner will have more mobility, firepower, and armor, then infact the IS chassis are quirked with more durability and have higher base mobility and can reach similar levels of firepower, usually opting for precision over super high alphas. This is assuming we are comparing the best of each faction to each other instead of you just pulling out the worst IS mechs that can't hold a candle to the better IS mechs.
The reason you don't see the Jenner, Cataphract, and Orion isn't because the Clanners replaced them, its because there are way better options in the Inner Sphere. Jenner was originally replaced by the Firestarter, and now its been replaced by the Wolfhound which does all the Jenner does except for jump and it has more armor and much better hitboxes while doing it. Cataphract barely was competitive with the Catapult even back in beta, new models such as the Warhammer entirely blow it away with better hitboxes, high mounted weapons, and higher engine caps along with decent quirks. Orion is overshadowed by the Marauder and Black Knight, which both use primarily medium pulse lasers for brawling rather than the large and heavy AC20+SRM combos that assault mechs just do better than it at, there's not much reason for someone to use an Orion when they could just go up to an Atlas.
Also, back to the Supernova vs Battlemaster debate, you're failing to look at the refire rates on the Supernova, yeah, the Supernova does have a higher alpha, but it pays for it in heat, duration, and most importantly DPS. A Clan ERML takes 5 seconds to be able to fire again after it starts its first firing cycle, well over 6 for a HML, and over 7 seconds to fire a HLL again.
This means that you can get in 2 shots for every one shot that the Supernova takes, so just go and take your shot, spread the incoming damage around, take your other shot, get back to cover and cool off before he gets his second shot in and you've out traded him. Should be easy with how much more mobile the Battlemaster is than a Supernova.
The Clan medium pulse laser has the same cooldown and duration of an IS medium laser and is double the weight, gaining 2 damage, 60m of range, and 1.35 heat. That's what they'd have to pay for to be able to compete in trades with an IS mech using medium lasers, they could also throw in 2 LPL if we're talking a Supernova, who's only thing it can do is boat energy weapons and walk slow, for a total damage of 66 per alpha strike, the 70+ alpha strikes require the heavy lasers that I've already explained lose.
Also your special fighting style you're talking about with your ability to aim with arms while having the torso not look directly at the enemy so you can "choose what torso they hit" gets countered by anyone who just aims directly at CT, since your arms don't twist far enough to the side that you are 90 degrees from looking at the target, not that that'd help with the bullet noses on many clanners. Its also worse than the Battlemaster because the Battlemaster can run empty arms so it can just use them as shields, thus twisting damage to an unimportant section while your Supernova has its main weaponry in the arms.
