I imagine one of the first things HG will try is to get the court to order PGI et al to stop "selling" the disputed items until the case is determined. Could cut off all the revenue streams for them and bleed them dry.

Not saying its a good idea to support the rather questionable practices of Piranha but they've delivered where a lot of others haven't. Same for HBS.

I'd love little more than to see HG get their **** kicked in in open court. If as stated earlier there being a cockpit item that was basically "**** Harmony Gold" i'd buy that too...

Surprise, surprise, Harmony Gold is at it again! For anyone that doesn't know, they started a legal battle with the guys that were going to made MechWarrior 5 way back in 2010 if I remember correctly.
Credit to SidAlpha for the details:

Seriously though.. again.. really? Come on...

Do some people not actually read the forums at all and just figure they'll post? Is it like, an impromptu, impulsive thing? There's been a dozen threads about it. We get it...

Sid-Alpha Just reported about this yesterday. I ******* hope Harmony-Gold loses this ****, and hard. Say what you will about MWO (most of you already have anyways), but one thing you cant deny is that the majority of the redesigns that MWO has been for the better. To think that HG can get away with this horseshit again 20 years later is just plain comical.

Thanks for posting this, but the video annoys me. Its got Battletech history wrong and refers to the 1980s like its some kind of ancient history, its not. *eyeroll*

The ones HG is using are the ones from the 80's line art for SDF Macross (renamed Robotech in North America)... so give them some understanding they are over 30 years old....

PGI was trying to get MW5 off the ground. Well at least in a sense. Pretty sure they hired someone else to make the trailer and other promo videos. But they were trying to find a publisher for MW5. They were working with Jordan Weisman too. But as soon as HG started making a stink, Jordan bailed and it didn't look like they would find a publisher. So they ended making MWO and IGP published it. Which I always suspected IGP was intended to fail and be a write off anyway.

However Russ intimated in a Town Hall that HG's hold on the rights were shakier than they had been last go around. Theory being due to the court's in Japan ruling the company that sold them the rights did not own the rights to begin with.

They have to contest to protect their copyright. Just hope PGI and HBS have the balls to do more than just defend themselves. They should attack HG's rights to the IP. Kick it right out from under them once and for all. I bet if they try, HG will settle.

I've seen a lot of posting of the goofy comparisons (like the Locust and the Officer Battle Pod), but what of the others on earlier pages?

Here are the comparisons from pages 10, 11, and 12.

I find it very suspicious they cut off the Phoenix Hawk's arm.

And for review, here are laughable comparisons on pages 13 and 14.

That was my sentiment upon seeing your creating this thread when there's already 2 or 3 on the boards. You offered us a video that slams the company who provides the forum for your post and then goes on to tell us... absolutely nothing new that wasn't covered in the previous threads.

Congrats?

They really should, and cite that HG never actually had the rights in the first place, as they did not acquire them from the actual owner(s) of the IP in the first place. But have been using fraudulent rights all these rights, that should really send HG scrambling...

As I hinted on one of the other threads, just send ninjas.

When are folks going to look at this document:

https://www.unitedst...42820/38-0.html

Page 20+ items 30+ are all aimed at Catalyst Game Labs, the maker of the Tabletop version.

This is more than just an attack against MWO and the HBS Battletech game, but an all out attack against all things battletech.

I'd rather do something much more... physiological to future peoples that think stunts like this are a good idea... Vlad the Impaler did a good job at sending a message...
