For the same reason I avoid using meta, I enjoy being the underdog and beating the odds as IS.. it just doesn't feel like this anymore..

Well, somewhere else in this forum I wrote that now the game seems balanced, but that was before IS pilots figured out how to use the new tech. So: I was wrong and take it back. It has become ridiculous to run into walls of assaults and heavies, but when they are taken out almost the same line-up follows in the next wave. IS needs a ton reduction. The 250 tons that were discussed somewhere (twitter?) seem apropriate. Maybe even the same tonnage for both sides. Some IS teams have started to use obj rushing as winning tactic, and there is no way to stop them with that tonnage advantage. At the same time it's impossible for clans to use such cheap tactics, because of the afore-mentioned wall of extra tonnage.

Clans are still winning the majorty invasion match's and use their own new tactics to win eg the near unstoppable linebacker rush. Things are not in a bad spot. As a merc I can tell you from experience its a lot hard to win playing IS

Increases in tonnage on either side are the wrong way to go, reduce tonnage on BOTH sides to encourage more variety to gameplay.

It will limit some ERLL boating on both sides and encourage shorter range fights, or will force more creative long range combat than simply loading up 6x ERLL on a BLR.

I'm all for upping clan tonnage to get close to current IS one, even for Scouting. However, if we do that for Scouting then we need to bump the IS tonnage to 60.

The idea behind the 265 tons is to allow any mix of each mech from each weight category, or put more simply one 35, 55, 75, and 100 ton mech. Objectively though, given the win to loss ratio, Clanners do not need any extra tonnage, if anything they still need considerably less. Personally though I say give the filthy Clanners their 300 tons, but force them to go 10 vs 12 instead, which is how they tended to do it lore wise.

So... 2 Annihilators per match, adding up to 2 100 ton mechs which equal 2 Atlas' or 2 Kodiaks/Direwhales a match... I fail to see what you're getting at.

Anyone else surprised we haven't seen another Clan tonnage decrease with the way the map has moved the past few weeks? Not advocating, just seems like PGI to do it.....unless they have some coming, new horror in mind to "encourage" Merc shift.

you should ask when are they going to up Clan Tonnage back up to 260?
Hmmm, maybe when most of the clan players had enough of dealing with whiney innersphere players and "MMO balancing" ********. Maybe a new single player mech game....Posted Image

I've been expecting them to drop to 225-230...just to make everyone redo their dropdecks and think long and hard about fighting 40 tons down....They could even use "extended supply lines" as the reason (if PGI cared about backstory....but they don't).... however, as tonnage differences hasn't worked as well lately to get Mercs to shift IS, they might now have a new plan. Idk..

Id agree with you except for the part of putting PGI and plan in the same sentence.
