It's Time To Eliminate The "mini-Assault" Light Mechs

That nerf made it difficult to have fun for a potato like me. Some of my lights almost doubled in size and were as tall as mediums.
The only time I pilot lights now is when an event calls for it and it isn't fun. I've been oneshot so many times and leave the game doing 1x to 2x damage to weight. On rare occasions I'm able recapture the fun and stay alive and do some damage.
New Tech has helped. You don't have to be as close, so you stay a smaller target. LFE's are a life saver.
With the exception of the Urbie. That thing is a giant miniature space assault hamster. It helps that no other pilot takes you seriously when you are running with the fatties and you can play vulture all day long. Plus they spread damage pretty well.

Don't forget URB has an armor-quirks like Annie. It means that before nerfing Annie's armor-quirks must be nerfed Urbie at first place.

And if he still can't hit a light, there are other anti-light solutions out there. The one biggest hard counter to lights being Streak launchers.
Spheroids don't have the excuse of not having big launchers any more. SSRM4/6 is available for both IS and Clan.

You mean this? WVR-7D GRF-1N
Or this... HMN-P VPR-C

Streaks are the bane of lights. Almost guaranteed insta-kill. The only good thing about the current state of affairs is that the light queue is rarely above 15% so it is rare you'll run into anyone running streaks if you're feeling masochistic and run a light.

Something like that. But a WVR actually has enough agility to go after lights.
What I was thinking of was something like KGC-000. If a KGC like this can back up against a wall, it can fend off lights without too much trouble. AC20s tend to amputate limbs off lights, and streaks catch the lighter (and faster) ones.

Problem is that... we don't have a role combat. Like I mention Wolverine-7D, Nuntsman-P or Viper-C are the best anti-Lights. But that "on paper"... IRL usually my EXE + some Hunch was those who sent on such role as "Lights Destroyers"... imagine to down one 20 tonn Locust or 30 tonn Raven was sent 150 tonns of fire power. GG that's a nice balance kek.

More than 2x SSRM's6 are better to chop some lights drum sticks than AC20, and the ML's are to long burn time, replace it with Flamers, make Light to pretend being a "Hot-Dog". Plus get a few HMG's or LMG's, or RAC2-5 as ballistic chainsaw. Job done. Light TTK will fall dramaticly.
Another exsample of an Light-Destroyers: SCR-PRIME or SCR-PRIME(HOT CQB)

You could easily swap the 2x SSRM6 with 3x SSRM4 for faster cooldown at the same total salvo size of 12 missiles. Also you're gonna want to somehow get a Probe on that thing, and the leg armor seems a little thin...

I think I need to give my Streak-Crow a ride... let's make a queue down to 1%.

Not bad idea of 3xSSRM4 but... with full open skill tree, there will be not much diff, and with SSRM6 legs went-off faster.
There is another but hot design of Light-Destroyer.
With probe SCR-PRIME

Actually Wolverine and Hunstman more versatile against lights... as tested. If you use them on purpouse together, Alpha-Lance just disappears in that direction where those two are located and never'll be seen again... in one piece of cause.
Using a SCR for that task is just a waste of a good medium brawler.

Clear something up for me here, do you mean the game doesn't reward you enough for scouting, or you don't feel you are contributing to the team effort when you scout? Or do the fact the most PUG groups don't appreciate the effort?
I certainly feel as if I am helping the team when I can take a "scout" light (max sensor skill perks, active probe, UAV's and a TAG or NARC) I am helping the team. I tend to take a PPC on Scout mechs so that when the time comes I can contribute to damaging the enemy in a meaningful way. I obviously don't rack up 4 digit damage totals, but keeping the enemies location locked down for the team is not a trivial task. Even if it's not really recognized by the game as such. Good teams appreciate good scouts. My K/D ratio sucks. but I have a positive win/loss record. I play a lot of scouts, It's fun, even if the game doesn't give me attaboys for it.

kind of all 3. You aren't really rewarded well for just scouting, most people don't really care if you try to just scout, and you aren't really contributing all that much when it doesn't really mean much that you can see targets on the map all the time.

Well, you can always be the "Squirrel", it's always entertaining watching people try to catch a mech that runs at 160 kph. if nothing else fails, drawing off a third of the enemy team is very useful!

Personally find it hugely useful if a scout pops a UAV to reveal half the enemy team (for positioning purposes - I don't do LURMS) - much more helpful than if someone just shoots at an unseen enemy without locking or communicating what they're shooting at (which seems to happen a lot). This is mainly because I still have difficulty guessing where the enemy is without any red doritos - and I'm pretty sure that would also apply to a lot of other low tier players.

This. Not having sensors point out the enemy means most newbies are confused at best when you're non-aggressive and have no dorito trigger.

The only ACH that could best me consistently is that of War_glaivez, but other than him I'm okay with other ACHs.
War_glaivez is a frakin horror, his current KDR is 28, frak me 28 over 150+ matches. In the few matches I've spectated in his mech, he is a frakin surgeon who knows the maps and sniper spots so well.
When I'm up against him, I go for him immediately and consider it a win if I can deny him any kills.
I think one of the reasons why he is doing particularly well since the light nerf is fewer lights around to hunt down his ACH
