This is going to be one of the only times I feel like I can speak for a group of people without asking them, but... On behalf of all MW:O players with terrible vision, can we PLEASE get some sort of work done on colorblind support and/or HTAL?

Every time I ask if work is being done on it, I'm either ignored, or just told "We know it's important to you, but we don't have any plans." That really hurts, especially when I go into the game after hearing that, and can't even see enemy mech markers, or I'm not able to tell if a component is at 99% HP, or 50%. I've even been desperate enough to install SweetFX to try and run it's own colorblind filters. (Sadly, they didn't help, since they change too much and the HUD either blends together or becomes an acid trip) I don't even try to use the minimap any more due to the color balance down there.

I'm begging you PGI, help us colorblind players/players with bad eyesight enjoy the game in the same way other players can.

I do really feel a HTAL Display would be helpful for many more People!

I thought I saw a 'color blind mode' in the Settings recently?

(Is that only for the reticle?)

It's not properly my issue- my eyes are "working as intended"- but there's no reason why accessibility options shouldn't be available. It's an absolutely minuscule investment in programming time compared to anything that has been added in the last year, and for the people who do need it the difference would be incredible.

It just changes the reticle for when you hit enemies, which doesn't solve the big problems. Heat vision is the only real way I can survive on maps like Viridian Bog any more.

Sorry, it's been bugging me (and my internet search-fu is failing me) - what does HTAL stand for?

Head, Torsos, Arms, Legs. It's a replacement for the paperdoll that shows bars which represent the HP of each component. It was in the previous Mechwarrior titles, and would help me gauge my health without having to guess based on a color spectrum.

Oh yeah!

I forgot all about that, probably because they swapped to the paperdoll for MW4.

I thought you wanna talk about the Mad Cat MK. II's walking animation.

But I also support this thread.

Even though I'd prefer a different color set due to green/red being a problem, those right there are still much easier for me to understand than the current paper doll. And I wouldn't think it would be too hard to allow switching between it and the paper doll.

I really do hope they fix her, but this is a much more important problem in my book. The animation makes me sad, but this genuinely cripples my capabilities on certain maps.

Shouldn't be too difficult to add detailed armour values on the components on the various status displays.

I'm amazed the UI seems to be so complex that they can't adjust a few color settings. I can't understand why the players can't have a little bit of customization in how the HUD is projected.

The color blind cross hairs are more about marketing color blind support than actually doing anything to help. I wish you luck in your endeavor.

Would a UI mod be feasable? Ive seen them around, maybe someone can just put up one with the right files edited so its easier to use for you.

I tried looking into UI mods awhile back, couldn't really find anything on them. And even then, players shouldn't have to rely on using third party programs to add a support feature that is in a good deal of games nowadays.

My color vision is fine, but seriously .. how hard could it be to make the dorito triangle over detected mech be a triangle for enemy and a circle (or square or something else) for friendly ?

It's a sad commentary that PGI cannot (or will not) code a UI element seen in Mechwarrior titles over 20 years old. SMH

PGI devs dont read this forum, they only read their tweets occasionally. Twitter is the most effective way to get in touch with them.

No, seriously, remember how people used to spend months on the forums telling PGI that clan XLs should get a speed reduction when a side torso when destroyed? And they were completely ignored until someone managed to get Russ's attention via twitter, and the change went into the game the very next patch?

The fact they don't use their forums for communication is one of the reasons I no longer hand them money.

I tweeted Russ at the same time as making this post.

Also, Chris, Mark, and Tina pop into the forums occasionally.
