How about 30% heavier and 75% more slots, and you can't put two into one torso much less two+XL engine?

Clans weapons are supposed to be lighter and smaller. If people don't like IS tech, then they can play Clans and stop advocating for Clans and IS to be the same except for different models / skins.

Then surely by the same logic, if people want single slug ACs, they can just use IS 'mechs.

Yes, each side has stregnths and weaknesses.

one of the most notable being the Clan's superior heat dissipation compared to the IS's superior heat capacity. a trigger happy idiot'll die either way, but it's eminently most notable on cold and hot maps which side performs better in general because of their chosen faction's choice of heat mechanics, at least in the case of energy heavy loadouts. for instance, that lack of heat capacity for clans is why fairly often Sulfurous Rift and Vitric Forge usually have usually a lance or two of clan mechs explode from overheat damage over the course of a match. conversely, cold maps that also favor range, like Borean Tundra are where Clan Energy Boats shine, and force the IS team to think creatively or get picked apart at range.

The IS and Clan are different. they have 300 years of adapting differently. so they should stay that way. learning how to work your strengths and lessen your weaknesses as your chosen faction is just part of being a MechWarrior.

Remember that IS UACs do the same amount of damage as Clan UACs with fewer "shells" and are therefore better for pinpoint damage while moving than Clan ACs.

Yeah, and they are 3 tons heavier and take up an additional 3 slots which means you can't boat them nearly as easily as Clan UAC10s. So I don't really care, they shouldn't be hotter. They also have less range.

Dude, you obviously aren't after balance.

Where did I ask for them to be the same? Having equal heat doesn't make them the same, it just makes one not straight up inferior.

AMS: Fixed an issue where disconnected 'Mechs could still fire AMS at incoming missiles.

I wouldn't call that an issue, I would call it a good thing and stupid to remove.

If AMS didn't go toward scoring match points, then there would be no problem with allowing a disconnected mech to fire AMS. After all, the mech is still available to be shot at and destroyed. But I guess they wouldn't allow a disconnected pilot to gain any match score.

Agreed, this makes sense, I would like to see some CB/XP rewards for AMS though, match score doesn't buy endo steel upgrades :)

Really looking forward to the quirks on clan mechs. Might encourage some more build diversity.

But... the Night Gyr still has the mobility of a 90t assault.

And then I arrived to the thread... I'm seeing some good things, but there's some horrible ones too.

Sure, it will be nice to see some boosts for Mechs like the Executioner, Mad Dog, and Arctic Cheetah (albeit this last one's not seeing help in the legs where it really could have used it)... All of which are actively lacking in some spots. It will also be rather nice to see the accommodations in maps for the Annihilator and Zeus. Apparently there will even be some minor helps in static-type User Interface dialogs, and less problems in Drop Sequencing... Okay, that's handy. :)

However, I'm noticing an alarming trend with Leg Quirks on Clan Mechs. I don't know what's gotten into PGI about ripping out Quirks from Clan Mechs that are supposed to be naturally mobile, but this latest change is going to force me into shelving my ShadowCats. It was already bad enough that I was having serious Heat Issues between the changes from both the New Skill Trees and the Civil War Tech Release. But now to lose the minor mobility that gave the ShadowCats the bare minimum I needed to keep running them at all? Nope, that was the final nail in the bloody coffin, and they're going to be collecting dust for a while. I'm even going to have to pull out any in my Faction Warfare Drop Decks, which will likely perma-break at least one Drop Deck. Hell, there was a reason that only certain variants of the Arctic Cheetah had Leg-Quirked mobility boosts, and it was rather crippling when those variants lost that. I'm even left to ask, "Is PGI trying to destroy variant-specific Mech personality on Non-'So8' loadouts?", because it currently feels like they're trying to punish anyone who dares swap an OmniPod. <_<

Then, whoa... WAIT A MINUTE!!! IS PGI REALLY SERIOUS HERE ABOUT ALLOWING LITERALLY ANYONE TO SKIP THE TUTORIAL?!?!? There goes MWO, right into the 'Junk Bucket'... People needed to be made to do the Tutorial in order to not have people unable to pilot Mechs or shoot weapons on the battlefield! Now we're going to see a whole new class of 'Cannon Fodder' emerge, dragging down people who actually paid attention to how to pilot. Nobody who actually paid attention should be dragged down by people who didn't take the time to learn the basics! PGI, QUIT HAVING A CASE OF BEING 'MENTALLY SCREW-LOOSE', AND DON'T LET THAT CHANGE RELEASE INTO THE LIVE GAME!!!

Bah... This next patch is going to be hell... I'm wondering now if I even want to continue bothering with MWO. Sure, I've been dragged back here at least a few times, but I keep finding myself given more reasons to leave. -_-

~Mr. D. V. "I can see the end times coming, and it's not pretty... It's like as if PGI's trying to drive everyone out of MWO." Devnull

Too much to hope that they have left off a dozen or so things off the patch notes?

Mad Cat II silly walk (mild description)
new tech laser different colours (or shades at least)
is small lasers, is & c spl's buffs
Carpet bombing (art/srikes) reduction
IK (lol - I don't personally care... but hey, this is never really coming right???)
CW/FP update? or whatever was talked about waaaaay back
IS uac10 heat reduction
ATM HP buff
some reason to take light gauss... oh this list could get long
arm armour quirks and size reduction of mist lynx arm weapons...
negative quirks removed from timber wolf
cbills variant comparable to P2W cutefox hero
maps, MAPS... MORE MAPS!
...oh and lol @ ice fridge - didn't realise it was still used.

too tired to continue...

This is incredible. Are PGI programmers too stupid to fix this extra annoying thing for sooooo loooong time?

No. Their management directs them to work on other things.

Now, would you like to buy a (poorly-animated) Mech Pack (with incomplete weapon models)?

Faction Play

• Fixed an issue where players could be dropped out of bounds.
• Fixed an issue where players could get stuck at the re-Drop screen with the drop timer resetting after reaching 0.

Great Scott ! we've gone back to the future this cant be finally happening ?! can it ?!

I SHOULD CALL SOMEONE !

And for all the people whining, we have actually got quite a lot in the last few months, sure mostly mech packs and unpolished stuff but stuff none the less.

Yes maps are long overdue
IK - the angle a foot sits on terrain just to make the game look prettier for people with severe ........ issues ... maps , weapons visuals and even more mechs to find the maps and weapon visuals are all the pretty things we need and dar more important than how a foot sits on terrain. You wont be getting IK this late into the game on the cryengine.. maybe in mw5 on unreal engine or if this game gets ported over ask again then.

For people on the IS uac/10 its supposed to have more heat for less sustained damage because clan mechs have less armor quirks so take less damage to kill therefore is uac10 needs to have less sustainable heat damage than clan version to compensate that. And with higher heat you can always just hide for a little longer to cool off after trades.

It seems allot of players are of the mindset that if you aren't able to "boat" a weapon, then that weapon is obviously nerfed and not balanced. If you look at the stock builds of most Mechs (aside from a few specialized variants), they usually have builds that are balanced so that they are effective at any range. The problem is, that when a game allows as much customization as MWO does, players will inevitably min-max their builds. I am not sure how you would limit Mech customization in a way that would discourage boating and overly- specialized builds though, especially since part of the appeal of all the MechWarrior games is the ability customize your Mechs.

Oh wow, seeing all the scales next to eachother you can really see how oversized the ice ferret is. Respectively the Ebon jag next to it has nearly the same size, but weighs 20 tons more, almost 50% more than the ferret.

Looking forward to the new myst lynxes though, my desired babies.

The Jag is a chicken walker. Most of them are shorter than conventional walking mechs of similar tonnage, but are then also wider, or have a thicker profile, or both. Like the Jag is shorter than a Hellbringer, but it is waaay wider, and it's profile is thicker too.
