I didn't say it does. I know very well that there are plenty of sub-par Tier 1 players.
My point was entirely about the difference in play between low and high tiers, and what works at low tiers often doesn't work at high tiers.

We've gone entirely off topic though; we were discussing IS vs Clan UAC10.

Werent there early adopter awards for the heros? Because I was quite sure that I bought early enough but I didnt get any.. :7

I don't recall there ever being early adopter awards for hero Mechs, although I have not bought any of the new ones.

I was fully maxed out Tier 1 as soon as PSR dropped, and there are many players better than me.

Uhh Clan mechs have the advantage in case you weren't aware. Both at comp level and in quick play, so your statement is invalid.

No, they really aren't. I play both and Clan mechs are much easier to carry with. You're acting like I am getting stomped on by Clan teams but A) I don't play Faction Play and B ) I spend most of the time trying to carry matches in quick play, using mostly Clan mechs, because its much easier to do so.

Since when are +30 armor quirk mechs automatically meta/top tier? We have had mechs with that much armor before and they have been garbage.

I have already shown the UAC10 numbers showing that the cUAC10 is clearly superior.

4 slots vs 7
10 tons vs 13
540m vs 450m
3 heat vs 4 heat

All for 1 less shot per burst. There is a reason players that actually know what they are talking about recognize the cUAC10 is the superior weapon. I can't help that you are just plugging your ears and saying "no no no".

You can check my stats to see you really have no standing here, I carry hard enough, you are the one that could use some help.

Gas Guzzler is correct; the IS UAC10 is inferior to the Clan version, both when directly compared and for actual builds.
One fewer shell per burst is an advantage, but it isn't enough of an advantage to compensate for all the disadvantages the IS version has over the Clan.

Please remember that the C-UAC10 is 3 tons lighter and 3 slots smaller than the IS-UAC10, while IS Endo steel is 7 more slots than the clan version, and IS DHS are 3 slots vs C-DHS being 2 slots... all of which adds up to the fact that IS UAC10 builds have drastically fewer DHS than the clan version.

Here's a more comparable Mauler build, that is using a LFE.


Accounting for quirks, and assuming the UAC10s on neither mech are double-tapping:

The Mauler 2P has 50 damage alpha, 360 meter effective range, 34.51% heat efficiency, 15.95 maximum DPS, 5.50 sustained DPS.
The Mad Cat II Deathstrike has 62 damage alpha, 400 meter effective range, 42.67% heat efficiency, 16.40 maximum DPS, 7.00 sustained DPS.

They also have same mobility stats, but the Deathstrike is nearly 11 kph faster.

Do not try to impress me with epeen, I am not trying to argue about who is good and who isn't, I am just trying to make people realize that the game is not intended to be balanced by making every weapon equal and if it was it would be awfully boring.

Its not about epeen I was just disproving the whole "just a measure of how long you have been playing". I'm not really proud of that at all, Tier 1 is a broad status.

It is balanced around making build packages equitable, i.e. 2x UAC/5 +2x PPC was roughly equitable to 1x cUAC/10 + 3x cUAC/5. With the exception of bad 'Mechs with too few hardpoints, though, there is nothing that you can do with the isUAC/10 that you can't do better using UAC/5 and something else. It is under-performing for its investment even within its own tech tree, nevermind how it fares against the Clans.

I only brought up the Clan version because it is so obviously at a disadvantage there as well, but apparently not to some.

Yes, but if you get over the fact that the IS UAC/10 is not supposed to be as good as a Clan UAC/10, then you can focus on making a different build that can fulfill a similar roll with different weapons (RACs+ UAC/2s maybe? Dual UAC/5s?).

Yes, it is more impressive if you top a leaderboard, or can consistently pull 1000+dmg games in high-tier group queue.

What's wrong with wanting the UAC10 to be viable? We already said that is what we do... use UAC5s instead of UAC10s or completely different weapon systems. You might as well use laser vomit instead of UAC10s for the same role.

Also not sure why it is supposed to be less effective than the Clan UAC10, the game is supposed to be balanced. They don't have to be functionally identical, and they aren't (no one is asking them to be), but there is no reason for one to be more gimped than the other.
