Boating 8x MG on Shard or 6x MG on general ACH is OP as fock.
Nerf incoming within days.

With up to 13 sustained DPS with HMG and 2x SPL (I run mine with only 11.2 due to normal MG) the ACH can invest in the entire Survival tree making it really focking tanky and still kill stuff quickly.

Funny game we had today in group queue (2x ACH):

The MLX also got 8x MG. Anybody notice a pattern?

I was walking through 5 mechs just picking of crit ones from behind.

The only thing I see running around right now in SoloQ are ACH and MLX with boated MGs.

Currently I dont dare to enter SoloQ with my Assault due to the itch I feel in my back with only 10 (!) armor.

After the righteous nerf to the previously overpowered but now well balanced and still versatile small lasers the only two weapon systems left for PGI to masterfully re-balance are the Machine Guns and LRMs.

Half the people I've stared down with 8 mgs have had gauss or srms and can't manage to hit me.

MGs are not the problem

I seriously doubt it, especially since you're basing it on HMGs. They're going to be stare-circling at point blank range. Anyone who can aim at all will be blasting the hell out of them, and they're going to have ****-all for ammo.

Pls don't get them nerfed into uselessness. IF PGI feels the need to nerf them. They can nerf the boating of them. Not make them a useless option on other builds. Yeah, I know, I'm nut for wanting to put two MGs on stuff. Whatever!

Uhm... I dont stare down people. I only try to get their backs open and kill them from behind.

Incoming Ghost heat. 20 heat spike if you fire more than 4 MGs on a mech or something like that.

MG's are very niche weapons with a very specific role, obtaining critical hits. Nerfing a weapon with such a specific role would not be a good thing and would result in mass extinction of MG's in general.

I personally do not wish to witness a mass extinction of MG's or any weapon in the game for that matter.

I know! If they can't kill what's directly in front of them how in the world will they defend their rears? PUGs are terrible.

Poor ember only has 4 mgs points, the new 2c fy jenner hero only 6. So many hoping new mgs would be an improvement.

Maybe they could give them an ammo feed bar or something. The more MGs, the faster it depletes? I unno. Just don't want to see them nerfed even worse.

OMG!!!!! NO! NO! NO!. Why is the first reaction always a nerf? If you are scared to drop in an assault that is your problem, not everyone elses. MG's are not OP, even boated. They have short range, limited ammo and low damage. This is almost as bad as people crying about LRMs being op. For the longest time MG's were a completely useless weapon. Right now it is in a good place as a support weapon.

Yeah no, you can lose weapons to 8 LMGs easily at 450m......


Not saying they need to be nerfed, but that is a fact, and that is not close range. Quite annoying actually. It will make my derp teammates that can't hit the broad side of a barn all the more frustrating because I can't count on them to suppress the light LMGing my back... I feel like solo queue is going to get frustrating.

I would not call 8x LMG + 2x HML resulting in 9 sustained DPS over accepable range a support weapon.
