Have the laser time to kill on the left side and then the various other builds on the right of the video.
Then, once that's all said and done, tweet it at Russ.

what else do you expect them to do? link gauss and lasers in the same group for ghost heat?

the issue is more gauss+lasers
not mixing large lasers with medium/smalls, thats not unbalanced
when gauss/ppc was nerfed the next obvious evolution of the meta became gauss/laser
the problem isnt lasers because lasers got nerfed. the common denominator is clan gauss, clan gauss is what still needs to be nerfed, its 3 tons lighter than IS gauss with no appreciable downside.
IMO clan gauss needs to be changed to 12 damage, 3.5+0.5 cooldown, and 720m range. That would make its damage more appropriate for its tonnage, but it would fire much faster and get better range compared to IS gauss.
balance clan gauss better and mechs like deathstrike will be fine.

Except, you know, the laser vomit people don't like with 6 ERML and 2 LPL. Even if you nerf clan gauss, I think people would still complain about it.
I don't think clan gauss should be nerfed, Maybe if I would be more charitable to the suggestion if Clan had more PPFLD available other than that. :l
Also some people demand mixed builds, so nerfing a mixed build will just lead to more nonsense. In short I think the community is schizoid and no one knows what to do or what they really want.

that builds not unbalanced though. heat keeps that in check.
its mechs like deathstrike that theyre actually complaining about

you cant balance IS vs clan 1:1 if you allow major imbalances like that to exist between the two techbases.
as a point of balance, Clans shouldnt get the same PPFLD as IS while also getting lighter weapons that take up less crit slots AND better heatsinks.
but I do also think CACs should fire single slugs to make them viable. although with higher heat and a slower rate of fire than their IS counterparts to balance out their extra range and lighter weight.

Scrap the Gauss/PPC link.
It's not far enough ahead of laservomit to justify such a drastic change. You remember what happened the last time you gutted FLPPD heavy-handed? It was all laservomit. Literally all laservomit for ages.
You really want to run into the exact same thing again? Because that is what is going to happen. Have you forgotten the countless salty crythreads complaining about laservomit? They are about to be back in full force.
Please.
Learn from the past.
Who could have seen that coming...

Well you can make a simliarly moot argument about gauss with lasers. "It's considerably more massive. The gausses explode when the paper thin clan armor gets wet. They still have heat because the lasers doont have a full compliment of heat sinks."
And sure you can have things imbalanced on an individual item basis. If you're calling it so breoadly an issue of interfaction balance while looking at minutae of not even an individual item, but what is really a case of 3 tons, you're being naive. Intermech balance is really what matters, it's why the quirk and agility and tonnage and engine rating and hardpoint systems exist. Interfaction balance is a lie, and it's a lie that you perpetuate when you complain about 3 tons.l
Now, I shouldn't have to explain this, but the real problem, as best I can deduce, is the the Deathstrike is overpowered, because it has the perfect storm of harpoints. I don't think people would sweat the 6 tons if they were there or not.

then they went on to LRMs so they got nerfed, they even nerfed them in FP so after 2 years
you can no longer lock on to turrets
then streaks got hit I forget the date
then PGI came up with a solution hey lets give them all new weapons
well I can almost here the planning meeting well if we do that they will be to powerful
so all the new weapons came in DOA, ok mostly DOA
(hardly any complaints about the new weapons since they don't work very well)
PGI said hey lets buff MGs
then people said nerf MGs
I have a race car I need to go work on later

2 large heavy lasers are too hot. I have not seen that build. 2 CLPL 3 ERML is the norm for HBRs

They'll nerf lasers, buff airstrikes and change mobility across the board.
Then say they did it to match player feedback.
