

Atm Bug - Fire Endlessly With No Heat Damage

How is this stuff not getting fixed when at least two patches come out with no mention?
I'm not sure all the conditions that must be true to get this bug to work, but it is definitely around the new weapons. You can see people using it as well, so I'm sure there are a few benefiting intentionally.

I run 18x (3x, 6x 9x) on my SHC-MI and i've never experienced this. Mostly because i've invested in enough heat / cool nodes to never need to worry about overheat on the majority of maps and given my maneuverability.
Interesting though, if you were a HB-IIC or NTG or something.

It's not just me as I've been in a few cockpits and seen the same firing pattern. As noted, was just in the backseat of a maddog with 2 ATM12 firing continously with his heat alarm flashing and no internal damage.

Was going to ask about this actually, try with different weapons.
Perhaps it's an issue with heat containment skill nodes? Do you have any invested? Your max heat has been increased (so no overheat/shudtown, damage) but the HUD graphic is incorrectly displaying the value?
Or just any other of the plethora of reasons why, because coding of this game.

I end up shutting down with an overheat when my heat is 50 except it doesn't actually warn me that I'm about to overheat, I just shut down like I did.
this was not just a single weapon based thing, it was doing on it different mechs with all different types of loadouts.

My incidents are all the 100% thing described in OP but I've also had a mech shutdown at around 95% heat along with MG's cause blazing amounts of heat after firing other weapons. No idea what thats about, i know they aren't heat neutral but apparently LMG's can cause you to over heat if you're not careful (was likely a mistake on my part the mulitple times it's happened but something to look out for)
The RAC5 i didn't realize had a cooldown at the end of its firing for a while so I assumed I was lagging, once I retooled my Marauder and started paying attention to my RAC5 operation (like i should have from the onset) I found an issue with it occasionally doing similar things. Firing beyond its jam chance or that function strait up not activating. Like RAC5 + zero jam... just go till you OH.
