oh I play. And yes I do come here mostly to **** all over it but that's because someone has to keep the hate alive. You all are way too happy about all this so I'm doing my civic duty to remind you to not be so happy.

I think the biggest thing you're forgetting is that, if we hurt PGI, we hurt Battletech as a whole. For example, HBS's BATTLETECH relies on MWO to make mech models for them. If PGI goes under, HBS loses access to ANY new mech designs. HBS also wouldn't be allowed to use any of the Unseen in BATTLETECH if HG wins this lawsuit, nor would Catalyst or any other dev team that comes in to make a Battletech game. Battletech as a franchise is being help up by 3 pillars right now: PGI, HBS, and Catalyst Game Labs. Knock out one, and the whole thing could collapse. I have my own problems with PGI, but I'd rather overlook them and get to field a Marauder in BATTLETECH than lose the Marauder for another few decades because I couldn't ignore them.

I haven't ever bothered with an early adopter purchase, BUT, if that cockpit item looks good enough to knock Dawn out of my mech's I might have to buy into it...

But you'd be happy, and I can't stand that.

Actually Standard's package 9F has four missiles, and reinforcement 8P has five missiles.

But yeah, missile arms and stuffs... This mech may be succeed Vindicator as the worst medium mech.

Way bigger engine cap, way more hardpoints, and ECM.

There's no way the Hellspawn ends up worse than the Vindie.

and the Vindi isn't really as bad as people think it is. it's always been a fairly solid performer for me. prob is it really shines most as a mid-range mech. most pilots tends to be either snipers or brawlers, either stay way out of reach, or want a mech that can take a beating in close, which pretty much screws the Vindi. leaning how to stick at about give or take 400-500m-ish in one and you'll notice the Chassis's inherent mobility and hitboxes start to really work for you. I run a Snubnose, MRM10 and two ER Meds on my dual AMS 1AA and it works wonders.

I could have sworn that the Hellspawn page initially said "Premium Time (Banked)".

Because it did say that.

The only reason i'm buying the standard pack is because of the extras.

It looks like it is, a badly designed junk pile, as most mechs were after the first clan mechs, Alex has done his best but it still looks like it came from the mind of a nine year old

Probably not. On the other hand you should keep in mind that JJ and ECM usually mean PGI won't quirk the Mech very well. The quirks of the Phoenix Hawk are actually anemic with the exception of arm armour - which it got because it houses its weapons there. The Hellspawn has many more weapons in the torso though.

I don't think the Hellspawn will be Uziel-levels of bad but I don't think it will be very good either. ...except the Hero. That one looks potent.

Well it was designed under the influence of the late 90ies aesthetics while having to consider the (very limited) 3D-performance of common home computers in the year 2000.
I always found it looked too generic, even compared to some other MW:4 designs. Alex did what he could, and I like the cockpit section, but he is no wizard. And it's not like he was the first who tried to salvage the design, Franz (whose rendition obviously influenced Alex) also tried in 2002's TRO:3067.

I remember this mech from Mechwarrior 4. It was a decent Medium. :P

Although from what I read, it's meant to be a command mech of sorts.

It was always terrible until the skill tree compared to other mechs in similar weights. It had ridiculous quirks just to try to keep it vaguely ok.

Hi and hello

For I must say I had hoped for better variants.
The Hellspawn remains for me only an average good Mech.
The no standard mech is in my Dropdeck.
We encourage PGI to a further reinforcements add-on with useful variants,
that the IS does not need any Quriks.

for example this variant alla MW4Merc
I have created in MW4Merc.
5 Missile Point
5 Ballistic Point
1 EnergyPoint

no shame in that!
My GI cheerleader will get some company.

Now I'm wondering if the left arm will sprout a missile pod?

The right arm missile slot needs a TON of fine tuning. It's such a huge target.

ECM and JJs is only deadly on mechs with enough tonnage for some good weapons. I don't think IS medium is nothing to worry about, it should get fairly decent quirks. Maybe general structure/armor quirks like Roughneck.
