Seriously, I just dropped 850,000 putting ferro back on my Clan Marauder. It's just stupid at this point.

I was playing a real mech.. I just didn't swap the engine because i've read from many people that they use the STD200 in them. As i said, I did the whole thing in just over 10 matches the other night with no issue. (i droped in my blackjack once, Cataphract 4X 2 times, Jagger 2 times or was it 3, and then i think 5 or 6 in my 4G and was done.. It's amazing what upping that engine to a STD250 makes. (full skill tree probably helped a little too)

On my clan account i did it all in the 4G, just to see how the weapons worked in it. I was not liking it lol

CACs surprised me by how not bad they were. I mean, they were bad, but they did work.

The dual UAC/20 Warhammer worked better than I thought it would. I figured it would just be jam city, but I tore it up.

Oh, and cramming 4 different kinds of autocannon into a Jagermech works better than I thought it would. Again, not great, but it did work.

EDIT: Oh, and I made more C-Bills than I thought I would, even though I had to buy half the guns. Made a little under a million in C-Bills just from matches while doing the event, so all the actual Event rewards were profit.

as of the moment i'm still finishing the IS side of the event with only the LBX AC's to go but damn LBX 20's are expensive so i decided to finih some of the clan side and finished the machine gun portion. so far the AC challenge as been the longest since i only had 1 AC 20 and it took me quite awhile to finish but it was worth it.. i'm not sure if i will go for the CAC's just for another rocket girl considering CAC's are not easy to use.. but we'll see.

The Clan Hunchback has the firepower and the IS has agility. Good that you found your match.

While you have to work hard to get 800 DMG with Gauss coz of all the stuff you have to do, it was very easy with uacs on the same mech to get 800-900 dmg.

Of course some ups and downs but it felt overall like easymode compared to gauss.

OK. It's only because of the event though. If you were running dakka on most heavies against gauss or laser vomit, you'd probably get wrecked. Everyone is spraying UACs everywhere this week, it makes everything easy if you can twist damage away and limit exposure.

Meh...

I own 1 mech that is LBX-20 compatabile but after 1 match, realized that it was going to take a lot of matches to meet the goa; and stopped.

Didn't so the AC challange: counter intuitive since I don't own a single AC weapon....

Meh..... Didn't see a need to go out of my way for this event.......

I didn't either for a long time, since I'm from light world. But they're very competitive against lasers these days. You should do the UAC challenge to offset the price of some of the guns. It's very easy to complete. Same with MGs and gauss.

Competitive if you're aggressive. Comperable dps builds run so much cooler. Or if you do short range whack-a-mech then UACs can out dps lasers.

As I recall, you couldn't mount the HGR in an arm, ever, even with crit splitting.

As a older fellow, I gravitate towards IS. I rediscovered the JOY of stock mechs as I spent all my ready cash buying all the damn clan weapons for the challenges then went on a mech buying spree due to sale. The dragon stock was ridiculously fun for what it was and I never played the H4G before and now have a new favorite mech! Good lord how you can push that old under-powered under armored and under-gunned crate to some exhilarating victories!

I despised the AC10, and Heavy Gauss...the AC10 had too slow a rate of fire and the mechs capable of handling them simply had too much mass to poke with effectively. In a stare-down they just couldn't put out the damage per sec.

The heavy Gauss...only fit in a torso, had an immense cool down and charge time on top of it. I was shocked at its 200 m range! Give me an AC20 any day.

The UAC2 en mass was very nice indeed! The AC2 was also good. The UAC10 (a pair of actually) was also very enjoyable.

After my experience with the Heavy Gauss I was shocked by the Gauss Rifle. I loved it, the range was great the trigger pul was fine and it could just as easily be used as the heavy in a stand up fight. The tonnage saved allowed a couple of med lasers. Short range worries fixed.

I enjoyed the change in playstyle in solo queue. With ballistics basically either being long or very short range weapons, there was a lot more tendency for groups to actually push and start a brawl. Glorious.

Also, rocket girl.

On the bad side, holy crap clan AC's and both IS and clan Heavy Machine Guns are awful. Money down the toilet on those (but that's fine, all part of the deal). I had never really considered clan AC's before because they just look terrible on paper, but actually buying and playing them took my contempt to a whole new level. If PGI wants them to see any sort of use in game, changes are needed, whether single shell, lower heat, extended range, or whatever, but Something Has To Be Done.

CACs were worse than I expected, UAC 2/10/20 was better, LBX20 being 11 crits w/o spli is dumb, and heavy gauss not worth the tonnage (dual gauss+dual snubs way superior), light gauss has identity crisis, rotary 5s are well balanced
