I just found it redundant that the expensive weapons - AKA heavier weapons, made you do more damage, and the others, less damage.

All of them should've had a flat rate at 750.

Yes.

Or reversed the scale... I would have much rather done 2000 with ac2s/uac2/clbx2 etc...

Dislike: HMGs are terrible, at least on a Raven. And why so much damage for the AC20s? I ended up only doing the RAC/UAC/MG sections because, wow.

Like: RAC2, UAC2, AC2 worked better than expected. I mean, I've tried AC2/s before and they didn't do much, but boating four of them on an Enforcer made it worthwhile.

Also Dislike: I spent more on weapons than I made in payouts. 9.9

The UAC20 + 4ML Bushwacker is pretty good, and 4UAC2s on the Jager DD is good. I finally had an excuse to run my trolly gauss Phoenix Hawk sniper. I got the Cheetah-E on sale and love it.

The UAC2 really surprised me. With doubletap its feels like a macro and you do way more damage in the same facetime than with AC2s. Great fun up to nearly 1000m.

Try it times 6 on the Mauler MX90.

I was pleasantly surprised at the Heavy Gauss, in dual format on a Mauler.

I ran the IS/C MGs, CLBX, IS/C UACs, RACs

The HMGs were terrible. Hate them.

I actually got really good results with all of the CLBX.

Got a little better with UAC2/5.

My RAC2+5 Atlas wrecked people, but I feel like that was just the luck of running into bad players.

never got anything and that's OK too. Was not really interested as I was just focusing on having fun. Glad some of you got something and all that. Kudos to you folks! :)

Light Gauss sniping is surprisingly fun in an Urbanmech. Not particularly effective, but fun.

If only Light Gauss did a bit more damage...

Spent 3.7 million C-Bills on cACs that I did not have all to get the Rocket Girl. Doing the cAC20 was brutal because I refused to buy a second one so I had to use a single AC20 to deal 2000 damage. UGH!

I liked the event but I will NEVER use Clan ACs again as long as they are in their current state.

I noticed I didn't have the space-bills to waste on buying a bunch of weapon systems I don't normally use, so I barely bothered with it.

Kind of started doing the Clan MG portion but that motivation lasted about three matches.

Cacs in there current state are not what I consider a fun weapon. I put 1 on a storm crow... and looked for side torsos to pop. The build was actually fun (due to the laser arm on the other side so was too bad)

Event? What event?

Seriously, they advertise one and introduce this new system for in game event data... which in my case provides no data and no event. It's just a blank menu with nothing in it.

And of course they didn't bother with a regular tournament posting, so I had no idea what the objectives were, let alone my progress.

TOTAL FAIL PGI

Wish that they would put the event objectives/overview in both places. Even if they only updated process in-game. Real time updates are good

I have seen wayyyy to many players this event trying reverse slope defences like this is world of tanks. There is no deflection mechanic in the code. Shots which hit deal damage. Period. Limiting your arcs of fire and making it easier to hit your head box is not the smart way to play.

Positive:
- hit reg was almost perfect whole time and there were not many cases I could see that it didn't work. Only HG-slugs seem often go straight through enemies, but otherwise as good as it can be in online game.
- extensive (idiotic) laservomit builds were absent most of time, Dakka is serenity <3
- Dakka is Zen
- variety of different mechs was HUGE
- Dakka reminded me why I still love this game
- Dakka is blessing

Neg:
- teammates often bypassed retarted-phase and went straight to potatoes
- C-ACs are annoying garbage
- Canyon network disapperared for whole weekend
- I still have anxiety issue on fighting

..agreed, no sour grapes here...except for the lack of anything resembling giving a flying **** from PGI. Gratz to those that completed the challenge! <o

Clan MG's (all sizes) hit fairly well. Had a 560 damage match in a 8 HMG misty. Ran the 2.5 tons of ammo dry, but you need to be right in their face. Fun fact: you can stand right in the crotch of a Slepnir and the ballistics won't hit you.

The RAC ghost heat is real though. Holy crap that needs to be toned down. Tried 1 RAC 2 and 2 RAC 5's and went from 0 to a big long shutdown in 1 second.

Why is there no consistency in LBX autocannon critical slot requirement? A standard AC2 takes up one slot, but a LB2 needs four?!? Why? To prevent people from boating them? Makes zero sense.

Why was damage required for long range weapons so low compared to short range? Yes, I get that they typically do more damage per shot, but the slow recycle rate negates that 'advantage'. Plus sitting in close proximity to the enemy while your weapon goes through its cool down phase made the event frustrating.

Direwhales can get lots of ballistics done at once, which makes them awesome again.

And, as someone who loves autocannons and enjoyed the whole thing, we need more incentivized events like this. PPC 'ride the lightning' weekend, Laser 'taste the rainbow' event. Missile 'singin in the rain' week long challenge. Make it so.

Because that's the way it is in table top Battletech. A huge cornerstone of PGI's approach to the game has been maintaining canon builds and weapon stats as much as possible. All tonnage and critical slot requirements of equipment is straight from table top. If you want to know why they were set as they are you might have better luck asking someone over at Catalyst Game Labs.
