If there isnt a heavy mech in there that can pull that off, would it be worthwhile to test on a mauler?
Just curious, and thanks for reading.

Beyond that there are other resources available for theory builds if you look around.

Basically anything with missile hard points in two locations.
Unrelated, you can do an MRM70 in a Bushwacker.
EDIT: Oh, the Jagermech can do it too, I believe.

Quickdraws other than the IV-four can't handle dual MRM40s because of where their hardpoints are, they are also 60 tons, not 65.
Here is a Catapult running dual MRM40s: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...49f3b2996f1960f

MAL-MX90 can, along with 6 MGs (LMG, MG, or HMG to taste) and 2 ERMLs.
Pretty niche, but with 6xHMGs + 2 MRM40s + 2xERMLs and a near-full 'survival' skill-tree, it's a beast close-up. It's the getting close that's the trick, as the MX90 is no speed demon. Had a couple of 6-kill, 800+ damage matches and some other good matches with it, but there were far more 'focused and dead at range' ones. Still, when things fall right it's quite fun watching enemy 'mechs 'disassemble' in front of you. The sound of chain-firing those two MRM40s on HPG Manifold is a treat, almost like a pair of RAC40s or something.

I take it you didn't realize that all, even mrm 10, chain fire the missiles and that PGI said that every mrm launcher takes the same amount of time to launch all the missiles, though I expect that there might be exceptions if the tube count is really low due to not having updated art.

For comparison three IS ER LLs do 24.00 heat and three IS LLs do 21.00
In other words - not that much if you dont spam them.

I found dual 30s just fine especially with other weapons delivering a complete alpha equal to dual 40s.
As for 20s, they are tonnage inefficient.
3 20s = 2 30s except you spend an extra ton of space for the 20s.

But i personally prefer Stalker as MRM60 carrier, this allows you to bring 4 ML to hit cored parts with precision; and tolerable amount of ordnance. ...And you still can walk.

Incorrect. MRMs use streaming firing pattern, like clan LRMs, but with lesser pause. So they are not handicapped by low tube count, unless probably very low tube count.

Run MAD 5D.
2x MRM30, 4xml, 1mpl. 4 tons of ammo, endo, 300lfe, the rest DHS.
2x40s has ghost heat. 2x30s doesn't and do to spread gets just as many on target.
That build is over 80 alpha, no ghost heat, heat sustainable for 3 alphas and cools fast.
Run it like it was MLs and SRMs.
After 30 matches, only ever in QP, my w/l is 1.67 and average damage/match is 536. 800+ damage is common.
If you're going to run MRMs it's Tanky, carries good firepower and the grouping on them is insanely tight.

It's about efficiency. On most mechs you would be better off running 2x MRM-30s without ghost heat and using the spare tonnage for some lasers or something.
