Did not really expect this to happen, big thanks.
I personally feel there is no need redeem buttons on it, but for the guys having issues with the event browser this might be needed.

Thanks for getting this back up again. It's great to be able to see events on the web again (though for Mech-toberfest I preferred being able to see the whole month's events, like last year). My only request is that it be possible to see the event without logging in (with no progress shown, of course, to just make it a bit more usable when checking upcoming events.

Yeah, the ability to see if there are some events going or planning from the w-site is much better, then need to log into the game to actually see that.
If only i saw this one before the event start, because when i saw it today - it already appeared that the 1st day ended 2 mins ago, timer was counting the 2nd day...=\

So, the Headhunting thing... *sigh* PGI. I thought we'd gotten past this. The rest of the events looked eminently doable.

I'll be morbidly curious to see the stats on the size of the player base that gets the headshot done, compared to the normal event completion rates. As it is, this seems arbitrarily difficult; on the order of requiring a player to trapshoot 5 Locusts in midair within a 24 hour period.

Usually I'm all for some not so easy to achieve goals, but tonight we can basically hope for some afk's or disconnects. Other than that - except for some very selected few players - I don't think it'll be doable other than accidentally. Wish they'd done something else like leg x amount of enemies.

So, the reward here is so 'meh' that I don't care that much. But I think it would be amusing if teams started lining up like death cults, each team pushing forward one player in turn to be beheaded. The heads man then steps forward to have _his_ head removed. Rinse, repeat. Last player commits suicide. It would be beautiful.

Tbh, I'm kinda interested in the Atlas Head... then again I'm realist enough that it won't happen other than with a lucky shot or a total potato making a staring competition. Your idea tho seems kinda funny anyway. Posted Image

A question about damage challenges:
Does only damage to mechs count? Or does damage to turrets and destructible walls and buildings count, too?

I think it's based on your damage total and as far as I remember damage to base structures doesn't count towards your damage total. Not 100% sure on that tho.

It's 2000 damage. Isn't it low enough to not be an issue to worry about?

2000 damage isn't that much. It's more curiosity and for future reference.

A random headshot is a once a year event, so the odds of getting one random headshot within two days is around 0.5%.

I mean some players have no problem flying up with jumpjets to achieve an instant headshot from 500m away on a running mech that was in the middle of performing a triple somersault... but most players including the good ones can't manage a headshot even if the mech has shut down from overheat 50m in front of them.

They might as well turn that event into performing two headshots within one day, then go check who needs to be banned for achieving it.

Good luck with that one anyway :)

In my experience getting headshots without cheats is very rare and needs a lot of luck. It doesn't help that you need a lot of knownledge because the actual head hitbox is only a small part of the head / displayed cockpit. And even if you know where to shoot it's hard to hit.
