Lrmists would have you believe their weapon is trash when in reality the weapon is unbalanced. As long as that indirect fire stays it shall not be buffed as a weapon.

Except that without indirect fire what purpose do LRMs serve?

LRMs are slow projectiles that are easily evaded.

Provide a warning when launched (to further increase the ease of evasion).

Have several passive countermeasures (AMS/ECM/Deper).

Have hidden tonnage/crit slot "taxes" in the form of near mandatory support equipment (Artemis/Active probes/TAG) As well as needing more ammo per launcher than other conventional direct fire counterparts.

Require locks to accurately fire removing the capacity to effectivley "snapfire" at briefly exposed targets (compounded again by the low projectile speeds)

Have a huge minimum range and...

Overall an unimpressive maximum range hard capped at 900m of projectile travel distance (opposed to say a gauss rifle with a 1320m max reach or AC5 with 1240 or even a PPC at 1080m ER-Lrg with 1350 or AC2 with a 1440m etc...)

And after all that when you do manage to connect the damage is dispersed and unfocused.

Indirect fire is the ONLY reason to use LRMs over nearly any other direct fire option in pretty much every circumstance.

To all those who say LRM indirect fire should be removed, this is from Sarna:

LRMs are capable of indirect fire ...

Enough said. <shrugs>

I agree. Indirect fire should not be removed, but it is the reason why it will not be buffed into competitive levels.

Sorry guys, but you went off the deep end here.
It doesn't matter if they are good or not, it appears the comments and rhetoric are not good, so many bad things said about people and to people.

Closing it down. Next time try to be nice.
