because the Crusader has weapons in the legs and PGI doesn't want weapons in the legs if i remember

Locust IIC?

Those look like missile arm pods. However, no canonical variant has that loadout (and PGI usually posts artwork based on the "Prime" variant). And I guess 4x SRM6 is a little crazy to fit onto a mech of that size, even with Clan tech. Some kind of smaller medium perhaps?

I don't think it's the Crusader because the arm missiles are always depicted as being in the fists rather than way up at the shoulders. The arms don't look humanoid in shape at all.

PGI-Alex-Creation, a la Roughneck? Wonder if it is Clan, since the last homebrew was IS.

Not that I have anything against PGI created mechs, but I hope they don't make a big habit of it. MW4 created several mechs that were adopted by the community, so, really, not much reason not to allow PGI their own fun with it. Within reason.

Was just running through the TRO with a couple players. We came up with basically nothing. Anubis was closest, but there's some massive discrepancies, which I don't think I need to point out.

The safe bet right now is PGI/Alex original. There simply isn't a mech I can find with the right profile or loadout for what we see. Either that, or Alex has taken so many liberties with the design that speculation is impossible.

Unfortunately, it's sure as **** not an IS Omnimech like I had hoped. Unless they really, really screwed up the Owens or Strider. Like, seriously boned up.

EDIT:

I also really doubt its a Locust IIC, as others have speculated. The missile count is wrong, as is the head. Its one of those 'If it is it, it's really screwed up' options.

Also a pretty silly release, since we just got the Piranha.

Not sure how we got from yet more IIC mechs to IS Omnimechs. But if that's what it takes to get a Sunder, **** it, I'm in.

I'm browsing through Sarna, looking for any mech carrying some SRM6's and so far I haven't found anything that remotely resembles the teaser at the top of this thread.

Anyone else have any luck?

I scanned through Lights and Medium on Sarna and Master Unit List and found nothing. I know others that scanned heavies and assaults that came up empty.

Like I said, good money is on PGI original or butchered design.

Hmm, given the fact that PGI has seemed to have released 2 IS mechs followed by 2 Clan mechs, I would guess this is an IS mech. As to which one specifically, well I'd say those would have to be 4 SRM6s in the arms. What IS mechs from Civil War era(or any Era really) carry 4 SRM6s in the arms?

I really think it's Locust IIIC. That missile thingies on the arm is reminiscent of that of Locusts.

Locus IIc even though that looks like an IS mech. We will soon know what it is.
