I know that's the old argument but what 40 Clan tonner can take on an ASN 1-v-1? A: None. What Clan 100 tonner can stand in toe-to-toe with an ANH? A: none. There are real advantages that Clans have no counter to that's the issue and the problem is that good teams exploit them. We've seen so many big ANH drops followed by ASN's that this is what matters and what we're trying to solve strat-wise. Sure, Clans may have some advantages overall but in very key areas that matter a great deal IS simply has better options. And yet, after each patch, Clans face more nerfs and IS gets more buffs with little recognition of some OP-ness on the IS side. The simple fact that ASN's we not addressed in this patch defies all logic and understanding and really I'm looking at PGI for some explanation. Make some overall balance changes, that's totally fine. But at least address the outliers on the IS side that are also the source imbalance.

Can't seem to find the downloadable patch file, even though it says "in the link(s) above". I'd love to download this at work and save some time when I get home. Can anyone point me in the right direction? (and forgive me if it is plainly obvious, but I've triple checked!)

None, because Clan lights are built for murdering assaults, which they do very, very easily.

Any that sit back at range. Clan 100-tonners are pretty garbage at brawling, so fighting it in the style it does best with those 100-tonners isn't the best idea. Meanwhile, your 85- and 90-tonners are quite good against it.

Meanwhile, what equivalent does the IS have for the Stormcrow, Linebacker or Hellbringer? You talk about good mechs the IS have as if it's only the Clans that are supposed to have good mechs.

Stormcrow. lol Bushwacker has the firepower and armor to wreck a Stormcrow and a Linebacker. And we'll talk about the Hellbringer when you're are no longer to fire three ERLLs at a time. For mid range? You guys have the Thunderbolt, and the Warhammer. Warhammer > Hellbringer. A skilled Thunderbolt pilot will likely win against a Hellbringer because Clan weapons have been gimped because of all the ridiculous ghost heat restrictions.

For you people to vehemently insist that Clans are OP strikes me as some of the most ignorant kind of logic to exist within this forum and just about any game.

I'm sorry but if you ask any pilot in any high-standing clan unit if they're afraid of annihilators they'll just laugh. We've confirmed, on and off field, that good units run by annihilators because of how useless they are against coordinated teams.

*edit* I do wholeheartedly agree on the assassin being better than the ice ferret/viper, but when clan pilots can run 3 waves of 6 SRM 6 linebackers, it doesn't matter, it just gets its legs chopped off.

I just noticed a warning in the mechlab that I can only fire 5 micro to med lasers simultaneously without causing more heat than usual.

I thought the limit was 6? When did it change?

Large drops of ANH's on modes where you need to hold your ground are devastating. On Skirmish we would just kite them. Hard to do that on Domination or Siege. SRM's versus ASN's are not great. They are too hard to hit, let alone leg. The best weapon I've found is MPL's and leg them but even that can be dicey when they are running circles around your mech.

Stormcrow's a lot longer-range and faster than the Bushwacker, you shouldn't've let it get on top of you. Linebacker, meanwhile, is faster, packs more weapons, has more armor, so I'm not sure how you're losing that match-up.

You can fire four without ghost heat... I run that build pretty often. It's hilariously easy. I've eaten Warhammers and Thunderbolts at mid- and close-range with it, several times.

Says the guy who ignores that the IS hasn't won a planet this whole season, and all the major FW groups are Clan because, in their own words, Clan are straight-up better.

MS isn't clan. EVIL isn't clan. 420 isn't clan.

If IS mechs are still underpowered, you are doing something wrong. You and your team need to organize, or you need to step up your game.

And you forget that IS has more pugs. Your pugs are losing your games for you. Clan has 'em too, just not as many. The same type of people who drop in with the same mentality as if they're playing Quick Play.

That being said, I feel like Faction Warfare should be restricted to Units Only. It is a more team oriented game mode, after all. You always have the solo pug droppers going in and screwing things up for the units that fight hard. Do that, and you get rid of the need for a 240 vs. 300 ton Clan/IS matchup. And all the units dedicated to FP don't have all their hard work spoiled by the amateurs and people that refuse to learn how this mode is played.
