Assassin Is Bugged: Everyone Knows It

Try to compare a cicada and an assassin: the assassin has basically the same survival of 3 cicadas and this is clearly wrong.
The assassin hit reg must get fixed, as it is actually braking the game.

I think you might be overstating the influence of the single 40 ton IS mech that only appears once in 5 games or so.
.
.
Unlike some certain Clan Assault mechs of which you can find 3-4 in a single match, every match.

if you shoot a madcat II in the face, the damage registers
the assassins hitboxes are so screwed up that the assassin is the tankiest mech in the game right now. its tankier than any clan assault by a huge margin.
PGI needs to completely redraw the assassin's hitboxes

...and because it is just fine, once a sufficient portion of the population buys the thing, it will be nerfed or "fixed" (depending on one's point of view) because THEN and only then, it will be found to be "over performing its internally established target values".

From the huge variety of PUGs I run into in FP every day, I'm pretty sure that more than 1% of the active population are playing it.
However, if you have some data to back your assertion, I'd love to see it.

- Being narrow, it compresses the torso hitboxes, meaning it automatically is prone to spreading damage across multiple parts.
- Because it is narrow, leading an Assassin mucks up convergence so much it creates even greater spread of damage against the mech.
- The arms do a good job of protecting those side torsos from side on hits.
- The walk animation causes quite a bit of torso drop with each step, resulting in unpredictable hits to either arm or torso, based on where the server thinks the arm/torso is at that fraction of a second.
- It moves very quickly, which both increases necessary lead (and thus borking convergence more), as well as faster cycles of torso drop (increasing damage spread further).

And the Raven. But I'm not sure it is a hitbox issue. Even the legs on the thing are toothpicks. It's just a super narrow design, so it's hard to judge if it really is a hitbox issue, or a *********** of favorable factors ranging from animations to geometry. I certainly have zero issues putting harm where I want it once I pop a leg off. I've had to fight them constantly, since I love scouting. All in all, they seem tankier than any 40-ton mech should be, but at the same time I am not convinced it is actually a hitbox issue in the same vein as the Raven or Spider.
Edit: To be clear, I am not discounting a hitbox issue. It is possible. However, I currently am leaning towards it just having a ton of favorable things going for it that automatically spread the damage.

Your 12 mech spam with MG not working out for you?
Maybe try harder to use rest of your side as armor shields for your personal damage score?

I've run into plenty of tanky assassins, some with the survival tree. I've never once in what memory I have of those encounters failed to have a shot register on them. That sometimes could be telling of what i'm piloting or what weapons i'm using, but I often use MPLS's these days just because IS mechs, and the assassin is a tough mech, there's no doubt about that, but I'd wager money on it being its spindly profile, having no pancake parts, being mostly vertical and its legs are odd as well. I've never held fire on a moving assassins leg only to have it not show up. And that's coming from a guy who pilots a MAD-IIC /w all the E hardpoints filled to the brim with pulse lasers. If That mech lets loose on something 60 armor, gone. Legging Light / mediums is very doable, assassin included.
Now I'm also not going to say I can SEE said invisible problems being claimed, and IF the assassin does have messed up boxes while performing some action (like JJ) which I equally have not seen as my legs have been blown off mid jump and I've done exactly that to other assassin pilots as well.
So lets see some evidence of these claims? Private match and just shoot one to pieces, we all got that premium time for the holidays I thought? Vid or it didn't happen?

1% was not my assertion.
But since you asked... you got me curious. The closest I could possibly come is looking at how many people are on the FP leaderboard who have more KMDD than me. I'm around rank 2,000 and I self-identify as "avoid FP at all costs." So probably around 2,000 active players? Super rough, obviously, because we're sorting by KMDD instead of match played, but the FP leaderboard only allows us to sort by KMDD, so it's literally our only option.
Now, the current season of the FP leaderboard has been active since July 2017? So we can just compare that to how many players have been "active" in QP since then. Which seems to be about ~45,000. FP would then comprise ~4% of active players.
Again, it's a really really shjtty approximation, but it's about the best we can do.
