Also nerf the commando, the locust, the hellbringer, the bushwacker, the annihilator.
And while you at it you also can nerf *insert any mech that killed me*.
Also nerf the whatnot.
Thanks.
Oh and the ylw. Nerf that too. Totally broken mech.
You almost had me, until someone wanted the commando nerfed.

But I am currently not able to video capture any evidences anymore because Nvidia decided shadowplay is now a register an account stupidity thingy.

i fail to see what point this is making? Playing bad mode means? what?
Exactly, why are you playing a bad mode?
See, both sides, team/group players and solo, do not understand or care to understand why the other players play where they do for the most part.
Some think QP is the best in MWO, fine. Some think CW is the best part of MWO, fine.
Both are right, from their view.
Thankfully, we have queues setup so those playstyles do not have to intermingle and ruin each others playstyle unless they, solo, accept risks of the choice they made for themselves.
You do not want solo players coming into QP Group Queue and telling you that groups cannot play in group queue because some solo players, fresh install, trial mech playing new pilot, does not want to fight groups.
I do not want some group player coming into solo queue telling solo players they cannot play solo because it is unfair to groups.
Players should keep playing on the playground that best suits them and not rearranging others playgrounds to suit them.

Except, you're not disproving anything. If anything it is proving what a lot of posters have indicated. It's known that the Assassin has some beneficial hitbox magic. All you posted is an incomplete assessment that shows the back armor testing.
On that and why that particular does illustrate how the Assassin's hitbox is benefical/broken;
- When the missile hitbox is hit from the back, the front recieves damage, which is also inherently far more heavily armored, thus allowing for the Assassin to take shots to the back that would normally cripple a similar mech of similar weights become cripple very quickly.
I think what was shown was the missles pods, being shot from behind, registers up front. If you are behind a Timberwolf and it has the ears on it, and you shoot one from behind (the ears or pods specifically) the damage likewise is registered up front. Think that is actually an intentional design by PGI. Would be awful for the Timby if it didn't. Perhaps this is not appropriate for the Assassin however?
There is no harm in running these tests yourself. Absolutely more folks should test it out. The more the merrier especially if you are serious and inclined so that it can be submitted to PGI. Email and screen shots, and video are way more effective if your goal is to help PGI solve an issue that is effecting you.

So Hal, are you saying you like to sneak up behind folks and poke them in the rear?

Hal works on rubber figurines IRL but not the kind you would bounce around on a TT board

[Edit:] During testing and preliminary results find that the assassins pods are badly done, The backs that are "front" armor are indeed an anomaly compared with missile pods in other mechs both Clan and IS. Will edit video and post later today. We're still mid testing. Will also update as needed.
Also on the "jump jet" issue. The landing animation is also super janky. I forgot to include it in the video but it's jarring enough that it would explain if your firing longer duration beam weapons at it why it spreads wildly while using JJ's to dodge. That's not really an architecture fail, that's a JJ animation issue, which will again lend to the tanky-ness of the mech.
[Edit: Video]' https://youtu.be/BbXh3TMMEZM
TL;DR / Watch : Assassin is an outlier in our tests thus far and could stand for the missile pods added to its love handles to be targeted for revision to actually take damage to the back instead of the front. It's my thought that they are likely added as "side armor" which translates to front, even though visually, it shouldn't. Balls in PGI's court.
[TKK- Addendum] We do this sort of stuff for most games we play. If you have a request for a mech to be tested under suspicion of hitbox issues / what have you. If we have it, or its on trial we'll attempt to see whats going on. If somethings massively jacked up, we can record, edit then post the video here. Just let us know.

Jenner also has it with its CT missiles.
Also, why mess around in private lobbies? You can test the hitboxes by yourself in Academy. Just go in with the mech you want to test, swap out for a mech like the Cicada, go and push your test mech onto it's pedestal to power it up, and you can walk around it and check rear hitboxes.

I didn't know that either... thanks. In this case it wouldn't have made a ton of difference outside of the assassin because the only other mech I own that we tested was the atlas. Good to know on the Jenner. Will do one for that next it comes up.

I want to pick one up, but now I'm scared because PGI does read these threads...and...you know...
Nerf bat...

You have got to be kidding me, GENIOUS(has way more common sense than me)....wtf of all the stupid things. Man I've been spinning up private lobbies and dropping on my other computer to test stuff.
SMDH how embarrassing to have missed such a simple thing.

Yeah its not the same nor is the armament that either can bring remotely similar. The assassin despite the splatsassin and stealthsassin are good brawlers but overall are nowhere near as versitile or as a hideously defended ball of armor as the linebacker. That thing can push a lot more effectively than i'd initially expected. But it also doens't have transdimensional SRM pods.

Yes linebackers can be Tammy, and can be fast, but the "dodge" chance of an assassin is crazy... But if your that worried about the assassin just bring a tag and streaks, it won't want to be closer than 400m of you.
