You suspect opposition, when it's only players who want to improve the game for everyone. Maybe that's part of the problem too?

You expect PGI to actually turn FP around with such amount of players? Good luck. We have been offering suggestions since 2014.

even if it were possible, forcing every pug to join a unit is not going to prevent seal clubbing. youll just end up with a bunch of terrible units filled with former pugs that get seal clubbed anyway.

at least if you separate out pugs from premades you can avoid that.

That's a big fat negative. Separating solos from units will only bring out whines such as "T1 players with meta mechs in my FP matches ruining the game for everyone", "ZOMG, I swear these guys sync dropped!" Whiners can't even shut up about QP SQ, what makes you think they will shut up about FP SQ? Posted Image

Also, pugs can join good units if they actually choose to. Plenty of units recruiting even novices. Only problem is, many pugs are not striving to better themselves, and instead choose to whine about how unfair life is.

I enjoyed FP when I was a pug, and I am enjoying it even more after I joined units. Not cause I can stomp pugs now, but getting into a good sized unit offers socialization--the corner stone of any player retention.

Exactly this. I don't know how people can really even play as much as they do all alone being solo. Having some friends online and dropping together really improves the fun just because we can all talk and joke together on our comms while we're shooting stuff, compare scores to have some small competition and banter, or just ensure that we have at least a few people on our team we can rely on a little.

Ok let me walk you through a "big group pug seal clubber" night from my experience. Been a few months but the routine's stayed the same for years.

Like 4-5 guys from one unit decide they want to do some CW but don't have enough to make a full team so they start rattling cages in the FRR hub looking for people who are game starting from the try hard units with a few people on and working down from there. Eventually they hit my bunch (1St Hussars BTW) who on our best days can shoot straight and are just sober enough to follow orders stated in words of two syllables or less.

The net result is usually 3 try hards, 5 middle of the road players, 2 perma tier 4's, and 2 Kiwi's.

We hit the just like whatever man button and get whoever we get. Usually a ratio of 2/5's we're the seal, 1/5th a legit evenly matched game, and 2/5ths we're the club. If we have a really good drop caller the club to seal ratio improves and if we don't have one at all it gets worse.

Repeat until everyone's too drunk or burned out to pop another game off.

SINISTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly. Even within our usual 12-man (MS) group, at least 3-4 are mediocre players who nevertheless wish to improve themselves, 4-5 are average guys who can make plenty of mistakes, and the rest are actually reliable guys. But all pugs see are 12-man death squad, and they flip out like headless chicken, or their hearts shrivel and die right then and there.

Honestly I think we mostly avoid this based off of how many people don't realize that if you see a big mixed unit group of Rasalhague and snakes that we're almost certainly 12 people in the same teamspeak channel. We look way more skittley than we are.

Likewise we see a known good team we do our best to make you sing for your supper.

Thanks for typing all that up. It really does point out in full the reasons why mob mentality rule isn't how laws work and why its just a bad idea for them to function that way.

I second our mediocrity.

For my two cents, I think most players would have a better time in solo queue if they just took a few minutes to review and adapt their mech builds for being at least OK (not even FP or map/mode optimized.) They'd do more damage and live longer even in disadvantageous situations.

Two rac5s and two ermeds on a cyclops is no bueno.

Sometimes I wonder what players do with all the free tonnage on builds like these. The enigma of a potato build...

When I see not great builds on an ebon or TBR I call animal abuse... so this is mythical creature abuse?

Was this a unit, a skittle, or PUG team?

Regardless, if that were a PUG drop of mine, I would have started a contest on who gets to collect the most number of MS limbs. Posted Image

But then again such players are probably a rarity these days. Posted Image

And in a related note, tell your mates they're not getting theirs back ... ever. Posted Image

eh they had no chance of winning even against MS

it is entirely understandable why they would rather suicide than get sealclubbed yet again

like I said they need to fix it by having separate buckets for pugs and premades

Entirely understandable? Not from where I am sitting. <shrugs>

What you guys probably should have done was split into 6 +6 or lances - then split up and announced that you were doing so on global chat so the pugs you were about to farm could have a chance at at more enjoyable match.

These chicken-livered snotfaces began to mass eject as soon as their first wave was crushed early in the match. In order to get our matchscores, our unit mates basically had to surround their drop zone and get some shots in before they eject out of all of their mechs, and lost a few to their dropship fire. Sure, they have their chicken-livered reasons for throwing the towel (hoping to get to the next drop fast and praying that (MS) wont be there), but it is still crappy sportsmanship. Only one of them offered any semblance of resistance (a guy named Bucket of Joy).

Naturally they were reported. Posted Image

And you can see by this fellows crying about him losing his rewards FP is dead organized teams have finally got what they wanted a dead game mode.

Back in the beginning of CW PGI was going to split the FP queues but the organized teams cried day and night into Russ ears till he backed down and let them have there way with seal clubbing new players/solo players/ and casual players until this game is almost dead and CW is in ruin.

Like this fellow most organized team players wont say yes we need to split all MWO queues organized teams in one bucket and solo/casuals/pugs in the other bucket they have been spoiled far to long getting all the rewards and billions in C-bills to want to stop now untill the at last players are bailing games to avoid them and deny them there rewards.

So the reportable, offending side was actually MS that keeps molesting the overwhelming majority of players that just want to farm their matchscore without getting bothered by such predators.

What the **** are you smoking? People playing the game as intended (i.e. as an organized team) are offensive and should be reported?

What the ****?

Sigh. What do you expect when PGI put in events that require people to play FP matches?

Ahem! No one is "required" to do anything. People can choose not to participate if they think they are not up to it.

We don't play FP just to club seals, we would have been just as happy to face full 12-man BWC--but these pugs are what the MM gave us anyway. Pug or not, they are breaking the CoC, thus should be reported every time.

So what if they'd all simply mass disconnected and then gone to switfch their decks and joined another match instead? You'd all been able to farm your match scores (though no headshots without spread weapons or bot assistance)...they'd be playing someone else not out to ruin their experience. Would you be reporting them or starting this thread still ?

Would be reporting them for non participation. After sitting in the queues upwards of 10 minutes I expect to actually have a good fight, if I wanted to shoot stationary targets then I'd go to the testing grounds.
